douglas88 (808), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Sep 13, 2008 Finally, I had a chance to drink this beer, the last Uinta brew I have not had. Pours a pure black hue with a large light brown head. The aroma is full of roasted rye bread, some light chocolates and spices. The flavor was quite easygoing and nice; a smooth semi-sweet malt, that is lightly toasted. A touch of banana, cloves and cinnamon. Dominated by a smooth malt, and very smooth. The mouthfeel was great; very full and creamy. Nice. BückDich (4558), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 2, 2006 Tap at Old Boise Brewers Fest: Black, nice head and lacing. Nose of toasted sesame seeds and light roasty bread. Some flavor of dough and toast. Finishes with a light mocha note. Dry finish. Nice. Earlier Rating: 6/6/2004 Total Score: 3.5 NABA ’04: Dark color, tan head, some lacing. The aroma is flat save for some roast & smoke. Char even. Flavor is lagery with roast, almost like humidity and more char, finishes lagery. eh. Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Sep 28, 2006 Draft at the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival. Big java aroma on this aptly named black beer. Airy tan head with sweet coffee flavors. Very good schwarz. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 6, 2004 Dark brown with an off white head and light lacing. Roasted malts, nutty or earthy with chocolate. Much the same in the flavor. Nice beer.
