Fudgey, chocolatey, nutty aroma. Sweet flavour. Some fattiness in the body, sulphur on the nose. Bland, sugary. Didn’t get what they were getting at. Not terribly Scottish in aroma more a smoked apples, prunes and boiled tomatoes. Flavour of sour brown sugar. Poor. Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 26, 2005 [Growler] A hazy amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity, but also prunes and some burnt detergents. The flavor is dry roasted and very spicy - with coriander standing out, which makes me think of a Belgian Ale. The end is very dry. Hildigöltur (5052), København Ø, Denmark Jun 18, 2005 Growler. Amber coloured. Loads of apples in the aroma. Quite hoppy flavour with a dry and bitter finish. Low carbonation. Light to medium bodied. Fresh.
