Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 20, 2007 Cask at GBBF 2007, CBoB firkin. A hazy dark amber beer. The aroma is sweet mlaty with primary notes of caramel combined with light notes of hops and grass. The flavor is sweet - but a very light sweet note, combined with notes of caramel and bisquits towards the finish, which is slightly bitter. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Sep 7, 2007 Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2007, London. Light unclear amber color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty , toasted, butter, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet with a average duration. (Sugar sweet) Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is flat. oh6gdx (8801), Vasa, Finland Aug 31, 2007 Cask@GBBF2007. Deep amber colour, small head. Aroma is unflavoured yoghurty sourness along with wood and slight fruityness and earth. Flavour is pretty much the same with some caramel in it. The caramel also stays for long in the aftertaste. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England May 2, 2006 Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Ruby/chestnut colour. Some choc, some fruit, tastes like an ESB should do. Doesn’t hit the heights, but competent enough. DJMonarch (6036), Northwich, Cheshire, England Mar 4, 2006 Cask Handpump at the Beer House, Manchester 01/03/2003
Copper amber coloured strong in alcohol and rich on the palate. Lasting malt finish. Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 3, 2007 Orange-brick coloured, pretty still and almost headless. This is a straight-on fruity ale, think apricot and peaches. Its aroma is very juicy at that, but there is a small toasty undertone to it. Rather sugary palate remains quite light in size, but the absence of carbonation makes its caramel notes appear like mountains over which apple trees are commanding. Average. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Jan 30, 2007 Cask Small white rim over dark red-chestnut beer. Earthy, leafy and slightly (sweet-)bready notes, as eggbread. Malty, sweet, good quality malts. Sweet, again bread or patisserie-lik malts, with a discreet afterthough of ligthly bitter hops. Retronasal there’s a flavour as from "Haagse Hopjes (Dutch coffee caramels; even a bit smokey, warming up. Medium bodied at best, a bit slick. Filled in by restsugars. OK beer, quite nice. Just not Strong - as the pumpclip adds to the above name. imdownthepub (5089), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Aug 18, 2003 Cask Conditioned. Dark brown beer, full bodied, christmas pudding beer. Lots of fruit, sultanas, apple. Tastes a little like malt loaf.
