Nose is vibrant with apples, grapes, caramel, figs and tartness. Initial taste of grape, dark fruit, caramel mainly displayed. Pear and apples hint through. Mid palate displays some toasted malts and spices. Finishing with tangy hop balance, caramel, and grapes. Average palate duration. Light to medium body. Good head retention and excellent lacing. Lightly warming. Well balanced, flavor is less complex than expected but very drinkable.

Pours cloudy and lightly particulate dark brown with an average, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee), average hops (flowers, perfume), heavy yeast (dough, leather) with noted of alcohol, dates, port, and maple syrup. Full bodied, alcoholic texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Aroma was sweet malt with some dark fruit and spices. Flavour was more sweet malt, raisin, yeast and nutmeg. The 10% is pretty well masked. Finished sweet too. Solid effort, but falls short of excellence.
