Dark brown pour with a filmy off-white head and average lacing. Smell is heavy roasted malt and coffee. Oatmeal flavor is present and nice. Smooth and roasty. Average palate - nothing too thick - in fact it is a bit on the thin side. Very drinkable. fly (1247), austin, Tejas, USA Mar 23, 2008 Not crazy about this, but neither am I about so many stouts (yeh, I know I can make enemies around here with a comment like that, but I make enemies like some make 110K+OT) Don’t take what I say as an extreme negative, while I might find this simple, it is nice and could easily be a session stout - I think, but not knowing ABV, well who knows. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA Mar 19, 2008 My favorite of the Uncle Blly’s brews that I’ve had. Pours an opaque black color with a thin creamy/tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is very malty and creamy of chocolate and coffee, a bit sweet, too.
On tap. lb4lb (1452), Austin, Texas, USA Mar 14, 2008 Pours dark black with a soft, small and creamy tan head. Smell is ashy and roasty. Slightly creamy yet somewhat thin and flavors of creamy burnt milk, and dark roasted malt. Slight tart edge to it as well. Not my favorite beer of theirs but still quite drinkable. Nice stout.
