lb4lb (1453), Austin, Texas, USA Nov 4, 2007 Pours damn near black, with faint muddy chocolate tones. Smell is semi rich, caramel and chocolatelyness with a belgium yeasty profile and hints of spices and clove. Taste is similar, spiced, yeasy, clovey, with perhaps a touch of chalky cocoa. Great, rich mouthfeel. Although far from my favorite style, this is a good quality beer that I can still appreciate. Reminds me a little of New Belgiums Abbey.
pint_size (1004), Austin, Texas, USA Nov 17, 2007 11-4-07 tap. Great black color with thick, heavy head. Chocolate texture with a creamy mouth feel. Taste is decent - but this style just isnt my bag, baby. fly (1247), austin, Tejas, USA Nov 6, 2007 Didin’t quite get me pulling my lighter out and screaming "Ozzie!", but this near non-descript beer that I’ll refer to as a Belgian schwartz if only to evoke Tim is quite nice. Fruity esters playing, nay frolicking with the dark but subtle malt. I ain’t absofukkinglutely crazy about it, but I know not a singular other BBQ/brewpub as experimental and I dig it.
