thebeertourist (1889), Oslo, Norway Aug 15, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown with a fierce beige head that quickly diminished. Roasted malts aroma with tart berries. Flavours feel fat, buttery, and with smoked notes. A bit too light-bodied for all this. Drinkable. harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Jan 28, 2008 Cask gravity at Pigs Ear BF 07. Charcoaly chocolatey mild. Not sure why no one else had this at the time, I must have drunk the half pint myself. leaparsons (4001), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Dec 14, 2007 Updated: Dec 17, 2007Bottle. Dark brown with a beige foam. Aromas are roast malts with chocolate and acidic berries. Quite earthy in its hopping. Flavours are coffee and berries with yeast. Some hints of chocolate in the background. Gritty grain towards the finish with a dry finish. Mes_and_Sim (4477), Highgate, Greater London, England Dec 9, 2007 A Mes rate: Gravicask @ Pigs Ear. Had this down as Uncle Stuarts Mild in my notebook but having looked at the program it seems I had a dry hopped, festival special version of Pack Lane. Not sure what the point is in dry hopping a mild. Surely that defeats the object? Whatever it was bloody good. Mahogany coloured with a thin but tenacious head. Very good condition. Lovely coffee and malt with a grainy, mineral like character. Some very pleasing toasted marshmellow notes right in the back ground. Pretty straight forward but very quaffable and enjoyable. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Apr 25, 2006 Bottle. A little bit thin, with some light saltyness. Slightly smoky, with touches of roasty malt. There is some nice flavour in here, but the finish is a bit too watery.
