Very roasty, dark chocolate heavy porter, bit of cola, and quite dry. Lots and lots of licorice. Interesting, but not so great.

Almost black, tan head. Very roasty and toasty aroma with some light coffee and chocolate. Flavor is extremely roasted and toasted. Slightly bitter. Pretty nice brew.

(16oz can, thanks CaptainCougar) Small off-white head atop black body with brown edges. Aroma is moderately sweet, roast, some bittersweet, chocolate, alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet, roast, milk chocolate, some bittersweet chocolate, light alcohol. Sticky medium-full body.

16 oz can courtesy of SamGamgee: Pours a nearly opaque dark mahogany with a thin, stringy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of toasty dark caramel and earthy dark chocolate with a touch of raisins and molasses. Starts with good light toasty caramel malty sweetness and nice molasses and dark fruity complexity with an enjoyable rich dark chocolate complexity before a smooth bittersweet finish. An enjoyable baltic porter, but could use some more body.

Draft at California State Fair Brewfest. Dark black pour...thick but not syrupy. Nose and taste are true to the description, lots of anise and licorice. Excellent mouthfeel and overall a very, very pleasant surprise.

A deep dark porter with a thin creamy moka head. A plesant treacle and chocolate, notes of vanilla and alcohol warmth. In mouth, a silky sweet chocolate, butterscotch, treacle, oily and rich bodied. Du bonbon! On tap at Russian River Beer and BBQ Revival, August 15 2009.
