| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Cloudy amber with a big off-white head. Aroma has an interesting mix of caramel, spice and exotic fruits. I think I get more peach and pineapple than lime and lemongrass...
Dryish fruity flavour again really exotic. A thick beer with a full body. Not a classic dubbel, but a very fascinating and uncommon(!) beer. Chickencoop (30), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2009 You have to love the fact that this beer is so outside the box on packaging and complexity, but manages to be a solid beer and a classic representation of the style in the end. It poured flat, but no worries, kind of like a hand pump, the beer shows it’s true flavors. Taste was rustic and sweet, mouthfeel was smooth and not overpowering. Drinkability-wise, I would recommend this and say you could get into some serious trouble sipping on these at a Raider tailgate, smooth and high-booze, bad combo but very good. fonefan (11713), VestJylland, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 15, 2009 50cl Can, a gift from a collegue who’s uncle-in-law is one of the brewers, thanks Gijs! Hazy reddish brown colour, dense creamy off white head. Aroma of malts, alcohol, dark fruits, yeast, light lime and lemongrass, which gives the aroma a nice touch. Flavour is malty sweet, dark fruits, some chocolate, alcohol, yeast, light spices with a nice oriental twist to it, light dry bitter finish. Adding the yeast adds a touch of sourness. Soft creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied. ricke (246), Malme, Sweden
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Reddish brown, quite pale for the style. An off-white very big head with good retention leaves lots of lacings.
Distinct, freshly tart lemon aromas, some spices and earthy yeast upon a decent caramel malty backbone.
The taste is not too impressive. Quite a lot of spices and herbal notes. Citric notes are present, but slightly muted, and add a hint of tartness to the dominating sweetness. I get a very very faint note of funky blanket and stale yeast, and I’m wondering if this bottle is completely healthy. Decent malty flavors of caramel and chocolate, but for a double it’s quite bland and one-sided. The finish is mildly bitter with spices, citric notes and warming phenolic alcohol. An almost burning sensation lingers on in the mouth, and I don’t know what’s causing it.
Quite full-bodied and smooth. Good.
Interesting and not as weird as it sounds like. But still, it’s a bit edgy and unbalanced.
