1FastSTi (2402), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA May 8, 2005 Absolutely phenominal! Thanks Chuck! Pours to a nice rich reddish/brown color with a HUGE frothy/velvety head. It bubbles like champagne. Aroma is very fruity. Peachy, nectarines, apricots, flowery hops, toasted malts. The flavor is very malty. Sweet malts but not caramel in style. Light tangyness on the finish. Nectarines are hidden in a light oak caskiness. White pepper notes. The palate is very lively. A bunch of warming on the swallow but I don’t taste a bunch of alcohol. Creamy and medium mouthfeel. The bottle popped loudly like champagne. mmmmm.... delicious. Either it was just my night to sample this or it really is better than my previous top beers that had a 4.6 rating. This one is well deserving of a 4.7. Slick (1956), Minnesota, USA Dec 17, 2003 Holy mackeral, much more of this rating frenzy and i'm going to be worshipping the porcelain god.Cloudy orange/amber color, nice tan tall head that lasted for some time and managed to leave a bit of lace. The aroma was very decent,Malty aroma with a nice amount of spice and spruce like apperance. The taste was much different,Spice abounds in this brew with a nice sweet malt and floral hops and the spruce manages to make another appearance as well.I don't know if they use actual spruce in there brew but if they do it's nicely done. The alcohol does manage to come through from time to time but not in a way that changes the over all experience. The finish is spicy and quite flavorful. This is really one of the best brews i've had from these guys,in fact i'd have to say it almost puts there La Terrible to shame. Thanks go out to Rastacouere for sending this fine brew and the possible headache i will have in the morning. dwyerpg (2094), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Nov 18, 2005 Apple w/cloves for aroma, it’s general color and lightness made me think more of a saison but w/alcohol. Truly excellent, it has a nice spicyness but some heaviness, almost like Christmas. Fantastic. omnivore (268), San Jose, California, USA Apr 1, 2004 #200: Pours beautifully into a tulip glass. Towards the bottom it's a vibrant gold, but as you climb higher in the glass the color richens into an opaque, warm, sunset amber color. The lacy head evaporates quickly, leaving nothing betweeny you and the aroma. Fruit and malt and alcohol waft up from the glass. Overtones of apricot(?) and the pungent tang typical of Belgian brews penetrate low into the sinuses. The flavor rolls from the back of the tongue forward. The spices grab on and slink forward letting the lemony taste leave a tang reminiscent of drinking a Hefeweisen on the roof of the mouth. The malt and cinamon and gingery flavors dangle from the front of the tongue and play with it long after the other flavors have given way to the delicate hops taste. This is a DAMN fine beer. BeerDude78 (83), Denville, New Jersey, USA Oct 1, 2004 Very good tasting beer. Has many hints of different fruit flavors. Pour a nice reddish copper color and had a nice long lasting head. Alcohol taste is almost non existant. Very good..
