Hazy orange with a medium off white head. Sweet yeasty aroma with fruity and malty notes. Flavour was sweet with malt, grainy, yeasty and caramelish notes. Finished sweet.

Big thanks to bring for "bring"ing this beer to a tasting. You’re the man, Barry. Pours a hazy golden color with a one finger white head leaving a ring around the glass as it settles. Aroma is very pleasant with honey, pale malt, spice, yeast, and mild sherry oxidative notes. Hey, it is over 6 years old. Flavor is good and sweet with pale malt, lots of honey and spice, Belgian yeast, and a little light fruit, especially apple and pear. Sherry is definitely in there as well, but there’s not too much of it. Nice and sweet on the palate with medium body and mild carbonation that belies the age of this beer. Drinkability is pretty high. This beer is very good overall.

Light unclear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, oxidide, fruity, sherry. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090922]

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a hazy yellow with an off-white head. Oxidized and very pleasant and sophisticated Sherry aroma. Rich body, fruity and pleasant again with an oxidized edge that really rounds it off pleasantly. Low in carbonation but high in alcohol. Yummy! Thanks Alex. 220909

750, corked and baled. thanks, dany! so stoked about this. pours a deeply hazy, unusual, and very pretty pale yellow. no head, no lace. huuuuge raisin and fig nose. other light sweet touches in there as well, but its all about those two notes. sticky sweet flat body. creamy raisin, fig, toffee, and butterscotch mid palate, complemented well by a soft tawny port undertone. faintest hint of carb at the end, joined by some warming alcohol. an attractive big belgian thats benefitted from the cellar in its own sweet way.

Bottle from a trade with Dickinsonbeer. Thanks Paul! Aroma is very yeasty but smooth - none of that spent grain/wheat sharpness that I don’t like: a fruity yeast, just a bit plain. Nice even golden color with a fat white head. Flavor is not very yeasty at all: sweet wheat, apple, that grape flavor that many Trappist quads have, brown sugar, even a faint roast. Very full and flavorful.
