Bottle. [ Thanks to Enjoyit ] Unclear medium orange amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy fruity, moderate yeasty, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (271007)

Orangey colour with significant off-white head. CItrus yeast aroma. Taste of the same, saison-like. Very drinkable, smooth and above-average mouthfeel. I like these anniversary editions, I find the yeast more palatable than the typical Unibroues. And it’s a pale. After cellaring for about nine months, perhaps the yeast has mellowed.

750ml caged & corked bottle. Pours a deep, very cloudy, orange/russet with gold highlights and a very thick, light, off-white, pillowy head. The head slowly fades to a thin, persistent layer of small, tight bubbles that resemble a swirl of clouds hovering over the beer. The aroma is very spicy and fruity: peppery with some cloves and fruit (maybe fig?). There is also a very subtle, but pleasant, acidity. And, of course, alcohol. The flavor starts luscious and complex: toffee and caramel, doughy yeast, seasonal spices, and fruit (subtle touch of banana?). The middle of the tongue finds a peppery bitterness combined with a very mild acidity - which balance out the lovely caramel and malt. The finish is complex and malty with a dash of spice and fruity hops. The beer is quite dry on the middle of the tongue and in the finish. The finish is also warming with alcohol. The mouthfeel is firmly carbonated and bubbly - which lends some levity - and it is medium in body. Overall, a gorgeous beer.

Bottle. Clear, dark copper color with a rose colored hue. Ivory head that holds well. Aroma almost reeks of bread dough. Some raisins, alcohol, spices and yeast are present on the aroma as well. Initially sweet then turning very dry. Dark fruit maltiness with a citrusy note to it. Very dry mid-palate through the finish.

Golden in color and a nice head. A tad more bitter than its former cousins. Very dry and nice malt and fruitiness.

From the cork and caged 750ml, bottle a hazy deep golden color, the head a monstrous pile upon the body, after its slow dissolution, the resultant lace a thick and clingy sheet. Nose is full of sweet malt, lemon lime crispness, bread dough, hop floral, with a smattering of fusel alcohol. Start has a definite malt sweetness, with the sweet and sour a perfect combination to please the palate, top light to medium in feel. Finish continues the spicy tartness, hops delectable, unrelenting acidity and the aftertaste dry as a bleached desert bone, tummy warmer that’s a given, Unibroue has been a long time favorite brewery, and as I absolutely love Belgian Strong’s, this series suites me just fine.

750 mL bottle - pours amber with thick tan head; spicy aromas mixed with some caramel sweetness; lots of carbonation and bitter aftertaste
