Smells kind of sweet, malty, some apple, and molasses. Taste is very sweet, almost has a vinous, wine character to it. Quite big on the malts, and that all too familiar Unibroue yeast taste as well. Really quite flavorful. Get some nice cinnamon or brown sugar in the finish and the aftertaste, which is just slightly bitter. Good effort here. Rotorhead87 (117), Temple, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2007 Lots of head (because my dad can’t pour beer) but it quickly dispersed. Light golden amber color. Yeast, a little sweet and fruity flavors present with a tad of a bitter finish. Very good beer, but not the best from the brewer. I would take Le Terrible or Trois Pistoles over this any day. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2007 Bottle. Off-white, fizzy, small head (quickly dissapated completely). Clear amber body with light sparkling present. Aromas of yeast, floral, bananas, light bubble gum are all present. Flavor is sweet with some light bitterness in the finish. This beer has nothing out of the ordinary but you know what I like high quality ordinary. nick76 (2675), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 16, 2007 Updated: Jun 2, 2007The aroma is fruity, sweet, earthy (with peat) herbal, and most of all yeasty. The appearance is copper/brown with an nice head. The flavor is not as sweet as I was expecting but is just like the aroma. Also it has quite a cork flavor in the finish. The palate is OK but approaching thin. Overall a well made beer but I am not in love with it. Slang is right, it’s a rather average Unibroue (which by the way isn’t a bad thing at all). Average Unibroue, nothing new thus nothing special. Still a damn good beer, but come on, these guys are forming their own style by now. Try to impress me next year.....
