| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2010 Handsome, dark, foamy, and sweet -- although a little disappointing. I was expecting a bigger flavor from this "noire" Belgian style ale. Y’know... I gave it a "4" Palate rating, because I’m diggin’ the fizz from this 12 oz. bottle. I’m willing to try it again. vianney (13), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2009 In bottle; typical Unibroue aroma of yeast (not a fan). Creamy dark beer and noticeable acidity. It was OK, but I was expecting much more from this beer. Not my favorite dark beer nuplastikk (1253), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 29, 2009 Draft at The Haze. Opaque black color with a thick, solid off-white head. Creamy and mellowly carbonate, there is some underlying sweetness and Belgian yeastiness. Smooth and easy, Belgian Porter characteristics. Not my favorite Unibroue, but still quite sessionable and nice. Sammer (37), Plano, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Midnight black pour from bottle. Typical Unibroue smell (what do they do to their beers that make almost all of them smell the same)?? Lightly smokey, toasted nutty taste. Smooth finish. Decent, not great, effort from an excellent brewery. lithy (1850), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

This dark brown beer had a soft a refreshing palate. There was an aroma of slight sour apple , white grapes and some nice easy bitterness in the flavor department. deyholla (771), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
