Pours a hazy amber with a frothy, off-white, diminishing head. The aroma smells like a strong German hefeweizen: bubble gum, light yeast, a spicy fruitiness and faint alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and effervescent almost prickly on the tongue. The flavor is of pears, bananas, spiciness (cloves) and a light alcohol on exhale. This beer is all about the malts and fruity esters, with no hop notes present. A very tasty beer.

Picked a sixer of this up while I was in Quebec for the weekend because of all the Unibroue beers, I’ve never seen this one in Ontario. My god is it a nice beer. It’s one of - if not THE best of - the abbey tripels I’ve had the pleasure of trying. Best served warm, the nose is of coriander and orange peel, with the cloves and citrus joining the mix when you finally get around to tasting it. The typical sweetness of tripels is beautifully balanced by just the right amount of spiciness. I strongly recommend trying this brew. In my opinion, it’s definitely one of Unibroue’s best, perhaps second only to Trois Pistoles.

Rated 10/25/06: Best before 3/07, this one is well aged. Poured into a small tulip glass and was given a vibrant light golden ale with a huge white head, serious lacing, and intense carbonation. Light fruity aroma with some spicy notes and that signature Unibroue yeastiness. Light and fizzy on the palate, mellow going down. Flavor is light and malty with lots of fresh fruits blended with a medium spiciness. Hides the sturdy alcohol content real well. Unibroue’s underlying yeasty flavor is well present, this is a refreshing tasty brew with a quick kick. Very nice indeed.

The beer was very light in color. Tastes very sweet, moderate carbonation and alcohol is smooth. Very good beer, typical of Unibroue.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden with a large short lived white head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma of super sweet bananas, citrus, sweet malt, coriander, and yeasty phenolics. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a spicy slightly tart finish. Another wonderfull beer from Unibroue.

Pleasurable citrus nose and smooth on the tongue though not overcomplex. Perhaps I should have drank it at a warmer temperature; the main thing that shone through was orange peel, coriander and Unibroue’s usual, albeit restrained, yeast.

Damn, shockingly this stuff was absolutely great. Pours a nice gold w/medium white head. Fruity but easy flaover, man a great ale in all seriousness.

Pours an opaque pale gold with a wonderful egg-white head and some lace. Malty, citrusy aroma, with slightly metalic notes. Tastes like lemon meringue pie! Citrus, sweet wheat malt, more spice than hops. Warm, spicy finish. Coriander, light cloves, not so much banana. Thick satisfying body, good carb. Again, it’s like drinking lemon meringue pie. Excellent hefe.
