From 750mL Bottle. My 30th Belgian Strong Ale. Pours the deep golden color of the filling from a butterfinger candy bar topped with a huge, soapy white head. Aroma of sugary apricots and cotton candy, mildly spicy, but also a bit cloying. A few notes of over-ripe orange and bubble gum as well. Medium bodied texture with plenty of large bubbled carbonation. Spicy flavors of coriander, ginger powder, and musty leather compliment a sweet honey background. A bit of light apricot and white grape juice in there as well. Fairly complex, but tastes a bit like overly dusty fermented light citrus fruits. Things seemed to be going fairly well for this beer, but a final smack of alcoholic cherry cough syrup spoiled my parade. Still, not bad overall.

holy shit this was good. actually asked for a second glass of it. i couldn’t identify the flavor that really stood out, but looking over these other people’s descriptions the things that ring truest are spicy and honeyed. more like molasses actually. dark fruit, that sort of thing. not as carbonated as the other unibroues, i gotta find me a bottle of this. RERATE. good, but not that good. kinda citrusy, pretty well balanced. pretty carbonated. no alcohol taste at all for 10.5%

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Went to canal liquors in Burlington Nj they had 3 bottles on the shelf, he had La Trappe in his hands but put it back for this. Poured hazy golden witha white head. Aroma of citrus, fruit, and spices. Flavor is smooth, fruity, citrus, hides alcohol well.

750 ml bottle, from BevMo originally. Pours a clear amber-mahogany color witha a small off-white head. Aroma is nice - sweet with spice ad herbs, mulling spices, rosemary, toasty malts, and rich yeast. Sweet and spicy flavor, honey, tart raspberry, tea and pine. Full body and moderate carbonation. Delicious.

Wow, I picked up the next-to-last bottle that Super Saver in Somerville, NJ, had last Monday. This one poured hazy deep copper/orangy with a 2-finger off-white head. The aroma was initially sour fruity, hoppy in an old, subdued sense, and florally spicy, like irises that have been in your 90 year old grandmother’s bedroom for 20 years. The taste was fruity and hoppy but never sweet, staying semi-dry throughout. A solid citrus and peaty element emerged as it warmed, and it got spicier and hoppier as it warmed. If you can find this, I highly recommend it. By the way, this one is not overspiced at all.

Thanks to SDBruBoy for sharing this one with Vac and I. Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a small head and no lacing. Aroma is very spicy and saison like with a slightly sweet/honey like hint. Flavor is sweet and spicey with lots of cloves, nutmeg and all spice but a little bit of honey in the aftertaste. Very nice marriage of sweet and spice in my opinion. Very, very smooth on the palate and probably my favorite Unibroue beer to date.

I’ve got to say, this beer has aged wonderfully. Huge herbal aroma now present, with a nice back of limited hops. Tastes are more refined than the initial version, spices have mellowed a LITTLE bit but are very prevalent. Ending is still that great spice accented hoppiness with residual spices afterwards. Amazing beer and I’m glad I still have one 750ml left. Among (after it’s ageing) the only 4 beers I’ve rated above a 4.5.
-------- />Cloudy golden red body, medium carbonation leading to a light white head. Very spicy and herbal aroma, similar in quality to the Weyerbacher Decadence. Very nice body, full of spices, sweet malts, some light hops. The spices however are the most dominating characteristic in the flavor. Nice springy ending, spicy without being overt. This is my second favorite beer... never had anything close to this level of quality (except for a very small number of exceptional beers), an awesome brew, especially if you love the Weyerbacher Decadence. 9/4/9/5/18 = 4.5

Slighty cloudy amber color with a thick white head that poured out of the bottle after uncorking. Sweet malt aroma with lots of spice. Sweet flavor, hints of coriander and some other pumpkin spices.
