Cloudy amber. Persistent white head. Spicy and herbal aroma. Sweet malts and thyme flavors. I am usally not a fan of spiced beers, this however, is amazing. Great, big mouthfeel, with an alcohol tingle. I love It.

[750ml, bottled 3/3/04] Dark orange color- aroma is bready yeast, and fruits. Nice white head that sticks around. Flavors are spicy coriander, some dried fruits and a mellow honey sweetness. There is some strange quality I can’t seems to identify. Nice house Unibroue character on this one.

750ml - bottled March 3, 2004 - Aroma is very zesty. Orange and lemon peel, yeast, coriander, and black pepper. Pours cloudy brown-orange with tons of floaties and bubbles. Nice foamy head and great lacing. Flavor has all the characteristics of the aroma with a nice malty back that smooths out the zestiness. Palate is sharp and smooth mellowing out as it warms. A great tasting brew 2 years old.

First rating in my new apartment!!!: 03-03-2004 printed on back of bottle... Pours a lovely orange amber hue. Spice nose, coriander, anise, ginger, juniper, lemon/orange/citrus, lychee, apricot, clovey, almost cranberry aromas. Puffy off white head, mostly lasting, finally settles into a small island, and leaves nice sheet of lace throughout the glass. Bready malts first, sweet, then spices, herbal notes, medium body, great mouthfeel, steady carbonation. Finishing with white peppery bite, alcohol, yeast and perhaps some hops in there. This has great finesse and is quite drinkable dispite its somewhat great weight. This is only my second bottle, I gotta grab some more to lay down. I bet this is just gonna keep improving with the years.

Better than 2005 - perhaps because of maturity. Seemed more of a sustainable off-white head, with pretty good lacing, the colors an amber copper orange. To me an herbal spiceyness I can’t quite figure a scent of malt and alcohol on the nose. Interesting. Taste follows the nose. These are more than solid. Somehow I expect more. Why?

from the bottle. poured into my Duvel glass copper with a big off white head that left some good lacing. aroma sour, tart, citrus, orange, fruits, brown sugar, hints of cinnamon, alcohol. flavor sweet, apples, orange, alcohol, spicey the sourness and tartness came out after this beer warmed up. very good beer looking foward to the 2005
