Aroma of apples, cinnamon, some orangey citrus. Taste is slightly sweet and tart, with tastes of apples, pears, a squeeze of lemon, leading to a dry finish. Definitely Unibroue fare. Body is pretty full and aggressively carbonated. Very nice. blankboy (3250), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 3, 2006 Bottle shared with and courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a slightly hazy, very bubbly, dark amber with a large creamy white head. Nice lacing. Lovely spicy aroma along with fruit, that Unibroue yeast smell, malt, piney hops and alcohol -- quite complex and smells great. Flavour starts spicy and fruity followed by the aforementioned Unibroue yeast, oak and some malt and ends with some piney hops and a touch of alcohol -- lots going on here, tasty indeed. Hides the alcohol well, too well even. Syrupy mouthfeel and full bodied. What a great beer, another great Unibroue product -- thanks to Harry for sharing! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 3, 2006 Bottle (750ml). My bottle, shared with blankboy. Poured slightly hazy deep brassy gold with an large lasting fizzy-foamy beige head and many bubble streams - nice! Aroma of fresh apple and apple cider, woody malt, yeast, spices, citrus rind, alcohol - well blended and balanced. Taste follows, bump the alcohol to the fore, the apple moves to almost overripe, the spices begin to resolve to allspice and ginseng, some grain and hop character begin to emerge as it warms - very short linger, but this has aged well - almost mildly oaky, and the yeast doesn’t sour the mix, the citrus and evergreen tang balance the fruit-sweet malt to keep this one right on track. Mouthfeel is sharply lively, lightly syrupy and a bit sticky. I’m really glad I could snag one of these at Premier Gourmet before they disappeared for good - thoroughly enjoyable fruity belgian strong - way to go big U (do NOT f*** with them, Sleemans) Quevillon (1536), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 26, 2006 750ml bottle. Produed 05-05-04. Right from the cellar @ ~50°. Served in a NB worthy glass. A bit of a fizzer once the cork was popped. Pours orange with a gold tint and a finger sized, rocky head. The beer and foam coats the glass. Some finley ground pepper sized floaties near the bottom. The aroma is orange, lemon, yeast, vanilla, and ginger. The initial taste is citrusy sweet with vanilla and ginger followed by a strong ginger flavor and well as some pepper, spice, and alcohol. The finish is spicy with a mild alcohol burn. nice mouthfeel, no doubt bolstered by the carbonation. I can’t say I enjoy this almost primarily due to the overabundence of ginger. I have another bottle in the cellar, will taste again. CMUBEERMAN (415), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Flavor was sweet and kind of bready/yeasty. Mouthfeel was very wet and not full enough. Head fell off too fast. ante (2960), Stockholm, Sweden
