Aug 27, 2005 A good belgian strong ale. Pours out a dark orange. Nice head. Tastes and smells sweet. Lots of complexity.

Aug 23, 2005 Updated: Dec 13, 2008[corked and caged 750 ml bottle] Slightly cloudy amber color with a very fizzy white head. Aroma is very spicy. Notes of malts, cloves, yeast and mint abound. Very spicy and sweet taste. Lots of spice at the beginning, then it goes to a warming yeast and malt middle with a very sweet and spicy finish. Lots of sweetness in this one.

Aug 17, 2005 The aroma hit me hard. a great bouquet of fruit and wood. smooth as silk and tastes of butterscotch and pine. high carbination hits you hard and with a lingering bitter after taste.

Aug 17, 2005 Fruity aroma with a sweet malt. The appearance is a golden orange and it pours a decent head. Flavor is fruity with a mango and orange presence. Plenty of spice also. Medium malt character. Aftertaste is bitter with plenty of alcohol but on the dry side.

Aug 15, 2005 Murky orange brown, large fizzy off white head. Intense spicy notes, plus astringent cranberry aromatics. Funky esters combine with allspice and cranberry peel. Astringency most noteable in the finish with is rather dry. Mouthfeel is smooth and medium, not was I was expecting for the ADV.

Aug 15, 2005 Cloudy apple cider body, medium buff head. Spicy aroma (pepper? clove?), with apple skin, tropical fruit (pineapple especially), and white grapes. The aroma screamed "Tripel." Rather bitter spicy body with white grape, pineapple, bread/crackers, and apple, obviously consistent with the aroma. Medium-bodied with moderate alcohol presence and a crisp, bitter, spicy aftertaste. A solid offering from Unibroue if a bit spice-dominated for my tastes.

Aug 9, 2005 went to canal liquors in Burlington Nj they had 3 bottles on the shelf, i had La Trappe in my hands, but when i saw this beer and new i would never see it again so i snatched it up and i was glad i did, poured a hazy orange gold, with a large fizzy head, aromas of belgian style spices, citrus, and alcohol. the flavor was carbonated, alcohol is very present, sweet fruit, and spice, this was very good
