Bottle thanks to Lumpy. Gold in color with a decent off-white head. Aroma is of yeast, fruit, mint, and is heavy in spices including nutmeg, black pepper, and ginger. Taste is of yeast and lots of spices.

Bottle thanks to Lumpy. Pours a murky gold with off-white head. Aroma of cinnamon, faint mint , malt. Flavor is much the same, semi sweet, cinnamon, faint mint. Mouthfeel is medium body with fizzy carbonation. Overall, not bad, a little different..

750mL bottle. Poured clear brighter orange with a short-lived, fizzier cap of white head.. plenty of rising carbonation. The aroma picked up a bright array of lighter fruits (pineapple, passion fruit, and green apple skin jump out at me) wtih a spicy yeast laced through it.. the sweetness from the fruit masked the alcohol well. The flavor opened with a little tartness and some sourness from the fruit with a non-descript caramel presence filling out the middle.. the yeast gave a clove and fruity impression that joined peppery alcohol on the edges.. finished spicy, fruity, and warm with heat rolling back in after the swallow. Medium-plus bodied with high carbonation on the palate.. this was very well balanced and it showed its age gracefully.

Bottle. I was worried that this may be flat after reading earlier reviews. Guess I’m lucky because the cork popped with a loud thud. We have carbonation mission control. Proceed to taste! Pours a nice orangeish brown with a very active off white head. Aroma is citrus, spices, ginger, malts, candi sugars. Flavor is citrus, fruits, ginger. Nice crisp carbonation, hiding it’s alcohol very well at this point. Not overly sweet or cloying either and very well balanced. This was really nice and has held up very well over the last 5 years. Good brew.

pours a beautiful deep amber with an outstanding thick white head and very nice lacing. it has a great complex aroma with tons of spice and citrus. outstanding flavor with all of the fruit and spices promised by the aroma but not sweet due to a nicely balanced hop profile. it has a very smooth and creamy mouthfeel too. absolutley outstanding.

Sure hard to find in 2009. 14.99 at Paradis des Bieres but 9.99 at... No way I will talk even under torture... An exceptionnal brew even if I had a few bottles that had flatened out. I heard it was a regular problem. If you are lucky, you will get a divine warming beer with complex flavors ranging for sugary to spicy to fruity, like orange, banana, ginger bread (a great fruit); hard to fully describe but it’s an amazing brew. Since I only know it from recently, I don’t know what aging has changed to it. But it is now excellent. But it is a risky buy because one out of three bottles is flat. But they changed the cork for the 2005 edition and problem solve. But I like bubble but.
