Great brew.... stubby (326), Santee, California, USA

Best ginger flavored beer I’ve had, though. Went nice with that spicy/fruity Belgian style yeast of theirs. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 21, 2005 Nice to grab this while it is available. Yellow hazy body with a fizzy long lasting head. Yeast and dark frut nose. Taste was sugary and had a good warming. Abv was well hidden. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Pours a dark yellow color with a finely carbonated fluffy white head. Decent lace.
Complex spicy aroma that invites one to linger over the aroma for a while.
Good flavor which is somewhat different than the aroma had me prepared for. Good straight forward Belgian with citrus sweetness, yeasty complexity with spice, bread dough, and a smoky, peppery note. Alcohol is well hidden. AustinMilbarge (681), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2005 Foamy, white head. Burnt orange, dark color, almost the same as the bottle. Nice lacing. Yeasty sediment. Crisp finish. Fine amount of carbonation. Sweet citrus. A little bit of banana ester, but not nearly as much as a dubbel or trippel. Very tasty, definitely let warm to room temp. Also, if I had known, I may have waited another 6 months or a year before uncorking this one. CharlesDarwin (1860), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 17, 2005 Very murky brown orange darkish pour, with very fine carbonation and a copious ivory head. Strong ester and fruit aroma profile, full of rich banana and pears, backed by a musky swirl of coriander, clove, and light tobacco aroma. Flavors are weak on the front end but blossom into this sweet candy continuation of the aromas. A rich, somewhat creamy mellow bready wheat and yeasts blended with masecerated cherries and raisins. Very sugary. Alcohol is well hidden in the beginning, but warms well on the way down. Good presence in the nose. Palate finishes oily and sugary, very coating and sweet cloying enveloping slick. Lots of good reminscents on the aftertaste, including apples, rum, and raisins. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 17, 2005 Updated: Jan 25, 2006Poured a dark gold and light amber color. The cork came off with plenty of force and the head when pouring was huge. The aroma is intense apple and caramel with some walnuts and dry wine. The taste is brown sugar and pears. There is a strong spicy note of nutmeg and some black pepper. There are also some mineral tastes in the lingering aftertaste. The body is surprisingly thin for such a big beer. I really like this one, a slightly spicy version of a Belgian strong. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 13, 2005 Deep amber color. Thick and lasting white head. Fruity smell with lots of alcohol. Typical Unibroue yeast flavor is added upon with sweet fruits and lively carbonation. Very good beer.
