This belgian pours with a slightly cloudy golden orange body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet, spicy and flowery...very unique. The flavor is slightly sweet, spicy and flowery with bitter notes. Very different. Medium bodied, smooth and a touch dry.

Bottle. A hazy dark golden reddish color with a foamy white head. A strong spiced aroma with lemon, clove, and candy. Light fruit flavors with orange, citrus, and lots of spice. The alcohol is present at the finish.

Apricot color with a thin soapy head. Smells like the stuff in seseme chicken. Pretty decent, but not nearly as nice as Maudite.

Pours an interesting golden color with a nice frothy white head. The aroma is very nice with hints of malt and spice. The taste is complex with a well masked alcohol content and notes of caramel, fruit, hops and a nice finish of warming alcohol.

Bottle. Haxy dark amber with a big off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, sweet malt and yeast. Sweet malt flavor with some banana and other fruit along with yeast. Very carbonated. Hides alcohol very well. Very smooth mouthfeel. Just a tad too sweet.

Had been saving this one since July to bring in the end of the wonderful year that was 2004, when beers such as these became available on the shelves down here in Georgia. The beer came in a 750 ml brown bomber with a Champagne style cork, so the packaging was very appropriate for the occasion. As the cork was pulled, a solid pop followed by a wisp of gunsmoke showed that it had contained the gases quite well. The beer looked deep golden orange with a two finder tall creamy head. The carbonation was very fine and quite lively. The aroma was complex with spruce like hops, dandelions, juniper, and peppery alcohol. The taste was dry and sharp, with spruce, orange peel, earthy yeast, and coriander. There was a bold hoppy note in the aftertaste followed by the warm alcohol burn. The mouthfeel was light and airy making this 10% ABV beer dangerously drinkable. But from the comfort of my own home as 2005 A. D. rolled in, this was just befitting the occasion.

750 ml bottle. As it got warmer it got better. Golden and clear in color with a perfect head. Goes well with fondue. Nice head. Malty and smooth tasting. Nice holiday ale. Enjoyable.

750 ml. I believe Capflu or Martin T gave this to me in a trade. Golden and clear with a perfect head. Spicy pumkin pie aroma. Malty and smooth, with spices dominating. OK holiday ale, but the spices are not my thing. It is well made, though, and that I cannot argue with.
