Fantastic aroma, herbal, ginger, blackcurrant juice. Initial sweet malt turns quickly spicy, prickley on the tongue, touches of orange and ginger. It has that same blackcurrant from the aroma but the herbs and spice keep any sweetness in check. Maybe a little too harsh in the finish but packs a great punch overall. Ideal winter brew. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA

Almost honey syrup sweetness. Orange juice and apple sauce, coriander spice and candi sugar. Dry finish. Very nice beer. brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 13, 2004 Has a carmel color with a small white head and some carbonation. Smell is of spices and yeast. Taste is of malts/spices/citrus and finishes with a light alcohol flavor. Overall a nice brew, but Unibroue have done better. nchoward (24), Iowa, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 13, 2004 This caramel colored beverage poured a 1" head that lasted for about 10 minutes. Strong citrus and estery aromas from the pour. The taste was much the same with a heavy malt feel coupled with spices (once tasted licorice) and citrus. The alcohol is very noticeable with the aftertaste being quite powerful. I enjoyed the brew even though I think they have better products out there. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2004 Orange-honey colored body with mild haze, substantial carbonation, a frothy white head, and thick cottony legs. Floral, estery nose with elements of lemon zest and caramel plus a hint of cloves. Smells nice. Malty sweet syrupy flavor gives this a soda-like quality but some warm spiciness and moderate esters and Belgian yeast properties keep it interesting. Syrupy palate. Decent, but not great.
