8/4/04. Poured out of 750 mL bottle, shared with friends at Stuffed Sandwich in San Gabriel, CA 8/4/04. Golden honey orange color. Blocky head that dissipates. Aroma of sage, yeast, slightly meaty and sausagey, some orange blossom. Flavor is of bronze yeast, medium strong. Slightly sweet, sort of a caramelized orange candy taste. Spices galore, and although it's very flavorful, I'm in the camp that says it's also sort of confused. Nice, silky body with frothy carbonation. Finish is long golden bronze with a lightly dry mouthfeel, quite good. I think the beer is pretty enjoyable overall, but I’m a bit put off by the sage and sausage. Sort of a shame, but it’s all good. I’ll take about six or seven other Unibroue beers over this one. Probably good with eggs and hash browns.

(750 ml bottle) Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a descent-sized white head. Aroma of yeast, black pepper, and pan-fried sausage. Has a mild flavor dominated by yeast and hints of dried fruit. Alcohol is nicely covered up. Another good brew from Unibroue.

Bottle. Nose is spicy like a mild smoked meat. Alcohol up front. Spice like anise and black pepper come through. Rather mild for a BSA.

Rerate 11-10-2005-vinegar, tannins, peppermint, apples, dry spices. The peppermint edge is very upfront. As it warms it starts to taste and smell like a maragarita.

Poured golden with a rich white head...spicy, yeasty, bacon grease nose...very mild mouthfeel (compared to the smell) but very complex too...pears and apples, then cloves and cinnamon...a little bitter finish, but not a whole lot of alcohol....

hazy applejuice color with a light tan head. a pork sausage aroma. smokey sausage flavor with hints of pear or raisin that is bitter upfront spicey roasted tabasco like hints in this. finish is chewy with spicey notes. all of this mixed into a nice brew.

Murky brilliant amber. Head has great retention, wooly white film sticks around for a long visit. Interesting nose, very spicy, I swear it smells like Pepto-Bismol and, oddly enough, not in a bad way. Flavor has loads of ginger and mint, some tart apple, lots of melon fruitiness. Quite yeasty, you know it’s Unibroue. Perhaps a bit too spicy, but still very, very good.

Ginger citrus yeasty aroma. Murky dark golden orange appearance. Sweet yeasty alcohol ginger and spiced apple flavors. Spicy yeasty medium hop finish.

The aroma is funky with citrus and spices. Smells like someone left the chicken w/orange sauce in the fridge a little too long! The appearance is a dark orange with a very large head. The flavor is like dumping an entire spice rack into a belgian ale. Its very confused. Its sour here, sweet there, and spicy to and fro. There is also a bit of dough present. What? What? What? The aftertaste is some sweet and sour sauce and pepper spice thing. This beer is a big ol' confused mess.
