| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Had this brew for awhile but bought it already about 3 years old at a reputable dealer so I think it;s been taken care of. Aroma is ginger, strong ginger almost overpowering. Looks golden brown with some chinkies floating inside had a head that dissipated fast. Mouthfeel is silky almost flat (little carbonation). This is alright but a little too much ginger in the flavor for me to want to drink this more than once. Finish is clean but the ginger overrides most of the flavor during the drink, there is some citrus notes, some belgian yeast, and other spices. Alcohol well hidden, nice but not my favorite from this company.

App.: Clear amber with a small white head.
Aroma: A strange mix of apples, mint and ginger, some coriander, nutmeg and cinnamon, a bit of yeast and orange zest, vanilla?, bright fruits, kinda strange.
Palate: Medium body, fairly moderate effervescence.
Flav.: Like the nose, there is a rather eclectic blend of strong mint and lots of warm spices, some lighter fruit, coriander, orange and yeast; sweet with enough bitterness and an alcoholic malty finish.
Not sure that this works for me... JulienHuxley (234), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada

Earthy malty flavour, apricot tart fruitiness, woody spice, lively carbonation.
perhaps just a lingering hint of alc in the finish.

Minty herbal sweet leaves aroma has an odd spicy bark characteristic that reminds me of stevia and odd foreign spices. Murky, red brown body with a quick bubbly off-white head. Minty malty spice continues in the flavour with heavy sweet grains and a long sweet finish. Medium-full body is a little flat. Seems a bit old but is drinkable and tasty nonetheless.

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 10, 2009 I’d give this one a 9.5; possibly the best beer I’ve had yet. I’m sorry I only bought one to try, and now...the shelves are bare. Bugger! The colour is a hazy copper and the head is quite substantial, although it falls away fairly quickly. Aroma and taste are amazingly complex with so many things going on. This drinks quite smoothly for such a high ABV. Bring on the 2005 edition! swoopjones (1920), Buffalo, New York, USA
