Nose of Lots of dark fruit, spice, and caramel, lightly hazed dark brown with a tan head; flavor is spicy with nutmeg, caramelly, with fruitiness, probably figs and dates and some alcohol warmth which lasts into the finish. Different from the 2004 which I had a week or so ago!

It felt like I was drinking liquid jam with strong Alcohol content. rich and fruity with a hint of mint. I was glad I tried it before it was all sold out.

The aroma is super fruity with figs, grapes, plums, and spices like nutmeg and allspice. Three is also a lot of brown sugar in there as well. The appearance is brown-purple with a nice foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma meaning it is very sweet and fruity. The palate is smooth. Overall I like it but it is not perfect. There is an astringent finish with a touch of metal. This one might be past it’s prime but I figured that a little age would not hurt this one.

Fruity/liqourice aroma, dark hue with a rapidly disappearing head, almost wine-like in texture and tastes of raisins with hints of apple, nice long aftertaste. A very good Belgian style beer.

Pours brown with a light tan head. The aroma of appleskin, rasin, dates, yeast and some carmelized sugar. Flavor pretty much lives p to the aroma, plum, rasin and carmelized sugar with some yeast torwards the back. Lots of carbonation with a soft sugary mouthfeel. Not too bad.

750ml bottle shared by Nolankowal at the Columbus Tasting 3.0 - Thanks! - Pours brown with a short tan head that stays pretty well and laces the sides of the glass. Aromas of slight grapefruit, caramel and some brown sugar. Flavor is quite like the aroma. Airy, well carbonated with a soft mouthfeel. Not too bad really..

Bottle at RBESG 2006. Don’t think I really got this one. Lot of flavours going on in there - fruit, malt, charcoal, caramel - but nothing really taking a defining role.

Bottle thanks to nolankowal: Mahogany color, with a white head. Aroma, raisins, molassas. Flavor, alcohol, plum and other fruits, some yeast, brown sugar, and some spice to it. Pretty solid.
