A nice creamy off white head. Malty, fruity and a little spice round out the flavour of this beer. Alcohol 10%, you would never know, soooo smooooth. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 16, 2006 Pours deep, dark amber with a full, tan colored spritzy froth. Aroma of cherries, brown sugar, and cola with a slight woodsy earthiness. Medium to full nectar with ample residual effers. Flavors are upfront fruity black cherries, beer root, blueberries, maple syrup, vanilla, oak wood and cola with a slight souring. Thers a slight bittering on the finish. Well ballanced and the alcohol is well hidden. Overall: reminds me of a more refined Trois Pistoles. Malty, very fruity, woodsy, cola-ee, with a long finish. Furseth (1333), Kungälv, Sweden

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 5, 2006 Pours deep brown with an off-white two-finger head. I haven’t had a Unibroue in a while, but the first whiff of this one brought back some good memories. Very yeasty aroma, with a healthy dose of plum and raisin, some toffee, and a dash of alcohol for good measure. The aroma turns more vinous as it warms. Strong flavors of raisin, grape, and alcohol; the grape is especially pronounced near the end. Finishes dry and sends a Santa Ana of alcohol warming down the throat and into the stomach. Excellent.
