Dark body, aromas of dark fruit, bananas. Sweet initial mouthfeel, flavors of licorice, plum, raisin and blackberry. Smooth finish for the abv, dry, carbonated, residual notes of cherry, sweet cola. Another good offering from Unibroue.

thy liquid, housed within the confines of it’s aristocratic glass abode, and at last embracing its commitment to abandon it’s conditioning vessel, departed, cloaked only in the dirty brunette shadows of the night. Assembled in molecular formation , the bronze waves above varnished the glass walls on their voyage from slanted to straight. Aroused, the vapors were the initial expatriates, swimming through the gaseous state in an instinctive search of olfactory senses, quite like a sperm instinctively looks for an egg. The fertilization, so to speak, dressed to the nines in molasses-like brown sugar and banana cream pies, was accented quite generously by a Belgian yeast tinge. Droughty on the tongue, thy liquid passed, leaving a trail of melted plastic or Styrofoam and the lasting influence of trenchant clove. Disconsolate, for thy yeast appears insincere, reminding me of my encounters with veggie burgers, soy hotdogs, and meatless jerky.

750. Pours a dark brown with a light tan head. Nose is sweet, plums, prunes, dough, touch of alcohol. Flavor is sweet like cranberries, tartness, malty, some plums and raisins. Palate was amazing. Sourness left on your lips makes them smack and a lite warming of alcohol on the throat with no alcohol taste, quite unique and spectacular.

Pours a deep red color with very little head, yet still manages moderate lace. Aroma is Sweet, floral, smoke, alcohol, coriander, ginger (?), and a very weak earthy aroma. Flavor is sweet, strong alcohol (at room temp), lemon grass, dark malts, minor cherry, and a grassy, dry finish. Palate is slightly thin, by my book. All in all, pretty good. I wish I had another bottle of 2004 to compare with.

Very dark reddish brown color with a small off-white head. Strong sweet cherry, walnut, corriander and brown sugar aroma. Clove, cherry, walnut, honey, lemon and bread flavors. Crisp feel with a dry, lemony finish. Very good!

Muddy brown color with a small, quickly diminishing, off-white head. The aroma was domniated by spices...coriander, pepper, and other spices...strong yeasty aroma as well. The flavor was quite good...clove, pepper, coriander, banana, lots of cherry, plum, and a strong, slightly acidic (?) yeasty character. The feel was very lively and crisp...lots of carbonation with a dry finish.

Dark brown with a medium tan head. Nice yeasty aroma with bananas and spice. Nice medium mouthfeel with a nice mixture of fruitness (plums, bananas, raisins) and some nice peppery spice, with ahint of earthiness. nice

Deep bronze body with a fine haze and soft, velvety beige head. Nose of maple, sweet rum, toffee, alcohol, and a touch of raisins. Nice malty depth of flavor with a cherry liqueur quality and a note of wood. Fairly sweet and a bit syrupy. This is a good Belgian Strong Ale but far from elite. Not in league with Trois Pistoles or Terrible.
