One of my favorite beers (gotta love the variety packs!) On an Unibroue kick tonight! Big cloudy golden/yellow pour with a huge fluffy white head. The flavor is like drinking a granny smith apple! with a slightly tart finish. Very special. AmazonMatt (285), Panama
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 29, 2009 Very nice, if more wine cooler-eque than beer. Apple aroma overwhelms this very bubbly beer. Tasty, but perhaps too sweet. Enjoyable, but not an everyday beer. brewtopian (2), Boise, Idaho, USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/20 | Jan 25, 2009 I ran across this beer at one of the only decent bars in Salt Lake City and had to try it since I toured the brewery a couple years back but somehow missed this in the tasting room.
Intense granny smith apple aroma with light delicate champagne like head and a cloudy golden color in the glass.
Apple characteristics are much more subtle on the palette and the intense carbonation is very pleasant and refreshing. Pair this with an aged cheddar cheese, some good crusty bread and pate’. halfluck (13), East Victoria Park, Australia

Pours a clear pale orange color with a thin fizzy head. Strong apple and cherry aroma with some musty yeast notes. Taste is wheat, yeast, apple and strawberry. Medium bodied. scrizzz (1337), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 23, 2009 Very beautiful in the glass, lively active tight bubbles climb to a towering fluffy white head. Hazy yellow in the middle approaches clear on the sides of the glass. Strong red delicious apple aroma, cherry blossom, and that smell that follows a spring rainstorm. Medicinal bite, this is where it takes on an artificial side. There’s still some apple flavor in there, some pear too, but it’s more like cheap candy. I needed a glass of water to rinse when I was done. illidurit (896), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 17, 2009 Pour: 12 oz bottle to pint glass. Hazy opaque peachy straw color. Visibly effervescent, big white head, rather fizzy though. The foam shrivels to nothing quickly with no lacing.
Nose: Phenolic and coriander notes are detectable beneath the big sweet apple aroma.
Mouth: Green apples, sweet and lightly tart, shroud a fairly typical witbier flavor profile consisting of banana pith, eggnog, and coriander. Carbonation is very very high, which is limiting the drinkability as I struggle to sip without getting the pop-rocks-in-cola feeling. The bubbles are too coarse for a Belgian style beer as well, making it too prickly on the palate. Not bad, just needs some refinement. ryanknock (150), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 15, 2009 This is a unique, refreshing ale that verges on and apple cider. Incredibly refreshing and drinkable, it has a nose of cider and the taste of green apples, but in all other aspects, it is a witbeer: hazy, large head, zesty and orange flavors, and a bready, wheaty backbone.
