not a whole lot to this beer that you wouldn’t expect, sour apple, fruitness....but still pretty decent. I probably wouldn’t drink it on its own but in the context of the aforementioned salad it’s good. ilovedarkbeer (1369), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 7, 2008 Pours a yellow green tinge with almost no head. Nose is apples, sugar, and a little bit of funk. Taste is fruity and has notes of lavender and some sort of awkward celery/ spicy taste. Moutfeel is pretty highly carbonated. Not bad but I like to keep fruit and beer seperate. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Aroma of coriander, fresh apple and spicey orange stuff. Small, white, foamy head on pour that goes away. Hazygold color. No lacing. Taste is celery, dry pulpy apple juice, and lavender water and some fizzy carbonation. Tasted with ilovedarkbeer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 6, 2008 12oz bottle-A cloudy/hazy yellowish golden body with a nice tight white head. Aroma of apple, coriander, belgian yeast, and a bit of banana. Taste of apple, wheat, and coriander. Comes across like a cross between a wit, hefe, and fruit beer. Nice tasting brew. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Pours a very light gold in color. Nice frothy, thin head. Smell the sour apple as soon as I popped the top on this one.
This is much less offensive than the Chambly I just drank. Taste is all sour apple. There is a very large amount of carbonation in this beer, but it works well with the flavors and style. Not something I could drink alot of, but different. tnkw01 (214), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Picked up in Asheville, NC. Wonderful apple smell. Not like cider though. Nice gold color. Good flavor. Not too sweet or sour. Just ever so slightly syrupy. Overall, a good beer. durhambeer (1232), Durham, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Hazy yellow pour with nice lasting head. Definite apple aroma, more so (thankfully) than on the palate. Tastes like a witbier with sour green apple notes instead of lemon. Slight spice. Very pleasant and easy to drink, but I don’t see myself going back to this often... but then again, the lower alcohol would make it great to have around on a summer evening... | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 29, 2008 Bottle. Slightly hazy, very pale body with a thin white head. Aroma is apple and cellar notes, almost a bit like entering a big cellar where lots of apples has been stored. Flavor is fruity, acidulous and a bit cider. Refreshing, but maybe some more beer flavors would have done this better. More like a curiosity for me.
