| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2009 Poured a barely hazy golden color with a short white head and minimal flecks of lacing. The initial aroma is honest to goodness apple. Not artificial smelling at all. Their was the standard Unibroue yeast strain in there along with the apple. The flavor was of a sort of cheap pale lager with some spices and apple. When it was cold it was entertaining, as it warmed it started to become a mess. Would drink again, just hope I remember to keep it cold and drink it quick. Thin, unremarkable mouthfeel. PolishHammer (64), , Connecticut, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 21, 2009 Nice apple aroma, otherwise clean and sweet smell. Taste is subtle apple, a bit of sweetness, not overly so, and lightly toasted malt. Hard to detect the coriander and curacao. Finish is crisp and refreshing. Great envigorating beer, and you can’t beat the price. $5.50 at an expensive bar that was getting $9 for a rochefort. craftycarl21 (576), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 21, 2009 Pours a hazy peach with a big white frothy head. Aroma is rife with apple, Unibroue’s distinctive yeast, wheat malt, and a bit of light spice. There is also a strange aroma of crayon or candle wax. Flavor is extremely bubbly and crisp, almost has aspects of a kristallweizen. The granny smith apple quality certainly stays with the flavor, and many of the other aspects of the aroma linger as well. The initial taste of the flavor isn’t particularly pleasant, but as it goes further the tasty apple becomes more pronounced, and it holds quite a decent crisp dry finish. Certainly not my style, but a decent brew. Cavie (1503), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 21, 2009 Foggy orange. Very clouded. Aroma has me all kinds of messed up. Smell from the table to my nose was pure green apple. When I put my nose in the glass, it changes completely! Reminds me of 2nd grade art class. When the scents of chemicals, paint and apples that rested upon Mrs. Kolfer’s desk combined and reached my nose, it formed this aroma. Taste is poor compared to the aroma. Dry and sour nasty. Finish is all Italian seasoning. Gross. hobbersr (412), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 19, 2009 I’ve had this bottle for at least 6 months. Came home after walking the dog and wanted a beer. This was the one I chose. Pours a pale yellow with a two inched white head in my unibroue glass. The aroma is very simple. Apple, pale malt, wheat and Unibroue yeast. The taste is also quite simple. The distinctive tart, crisp and green taste of granny smith apples with Unibroue yeast. Carbonation is nice. I just can’t wrap my head around fruit beers enough to give this one a higher score. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 19, 2009 buttery soft and fruity with sweet fresh baked green apple. oily and creamy with hardly too much beer character yet interesting demonstrative and flowery. a mans brew? maybe not but add some pie crust and....it’s fixed! interesing. awiseman01 (379), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 16, 2009 Sample on Tap at FFF Brewpub. Pours light yellow similar to a fruit wine. Lots of apples in the nose, lots of apples in the flavor, lots of apples in the palate, lots of apples in the finish, lots of apples in the burp...How do you like them apples? In all seriousness, this was a very nice, light, crisp, refreshing treat. If there weren’t such a great tap lineup at FFF I would have had a glass. Better at cooler temps, I would suggest. I will be on the lookout for a bottle. phaleslu (573), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2009 Draft sample. Cloudy gold pour with . Apples, apples, and more apples in the aroma- green to be specific. The flavor was obviously more green apples, and while tart, didn’t have as much of a punch as the nose. Some fruit beers overwhelm, but this was very pleasant and more reserved. It also was a lot more natural tasting than most other fruit beers. Medium body with crisp, soft mouthfeel. Not bad at all, and a small one of these is nice in the summertime.
