brithen (3), Ontario, Canada does not count Jul 21, 2009 Very smooth drinking beer. I think I will be drinking more of this in the near future. USCBeerMan (103), Columbia, South Carolina, USA Jul 18, 2009 750 ml bottle. This beer is crisp and clean with a fruity, citrusy bouque. Very easy beer to drink for alcohol content. clean and refreshing. pour is golden with slight yeast haze. jsh12bama (335), Alabama, USA Jul 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours golden with thick white head. Aroma of pepper, yeast, and pears. Taste of spices, bread, and yeast. Easy drinking for 9%. Not a huge fan of the style but this is good. MrRoss (614), Delta, British Columbia, Canada Jul 17, 2009 Poured from the large 750ml bottle (thanks, Unibroue!) in a rich, cloudy gold colour and an almost overwhelming foamy white head, that left some nice lacing. Aroma was a tinge of yeast but mostly fruity. Taste was strong yet fruity. I’d like more of this. thirdeye11 (405), Texas, USA Jul 15, 2009 Updated: Nov 1, 2009(12oz bottle) pours mostly clear dark yellow with 1 finger head that has lasting creamy bubbles. Nose is complex, coriander, grass, Sweet malts, white pepper, and spices. Taste is white pepper, sweet malt well balanced with light hops. Finish is dry but quite creamy and well carbonated. A world-class tripel and given how much they produce makes it even more amazing how good it is. Hbuck72 (122), Chickasha, Oklahoma, USA Jul 12, 2009 Updated: Aug 14, 2009Pours a beautiful hazy golden color with lots of fluffy white head, the aroma is of wheat, yeast, and a fruity bouquet. The taste is sweet and smooth, comprised of wheat and fruit (just as the aroma elluded to. Like all of the other Unibroue beers, I am extremely impressed, not my favorite style, but very good interpretation (improvement). direwolf9 (29), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 10, 2009 750 ml bottle. This beer just tastes great. Crisp and clean with a citrus carbonation. Very easy beer to drink. Unlike the stouts and hoppy IPA’s this beer would have a very wide audience. Most non beer drinkers would like this beer. FlyingTaco (112), Massachusetts, USA Jul 9, 2009 Original review date 10/1/2008...
750 corked & caged into Ommegang chalice...
Clean, thin 1/2-1-finger yeasty even head with a clear seam topping a cloudy, honey body with quick carbonation. Looks like a good Trippel - last pour heads up a lot more but goes quickly.
Telltale Tripel signs of bountiful coriander, a little clove and ginger and nice yeast character. Hardcore electricity and wheat-ish bite. Strength dissipates with warmth.
The spicy tone of this is extremely solid and electric...clean, yeasty profile with mild malt sweetness. Solid carbonation gives this a slight saltiness that blends well to make a clean-drinking experiment in Beautiful Chemistry.
A hearty, husky malt/yeast/wheat profile gives this an extremely solid woody backbone. The spicy sweetness is balanced with the ample carbonation to provide a greay palate tingle. This exhibits quintessential Tripel mouthfeel.
This drinks at a very responsible pace. Not quickly but not too slowly. Matters, as it’s a pleasure to enjoy. One of the best all-around offerings that has been given a "good look" in some time...
