Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Jun 29, 2009 750ml bottle from BevMo. Pours a hazy honey color with one finger creamy head. Nose is cloves, yeast and fruit bubblegum. Taste is tangy citrus, spicy Belgian yeast and a souring finish that fades into sweet fruits again. Medium mouth feel. An easier drinker but quite warming at 9%. crajun (89), , Texas, USA Jun 28, 2009 I just had a booklyn #1 last night and these 2 are very close; this might be slightly better but it’s damn close.
cloudy golden pour (12oz btle) with small head; NO alcohol taste or pepper like #1; very smooth and sweeter finish than #1. very crisp finish also.
that’s as good as I have had Listigovers (96), Ontario, Canada Jun 26, 2009 When I tried this beer it was the best beer I had ever tried, it has since been superceded by some excellent imperial stouts and trappists, but it is still a great beer. Characteristically yeasty taste from Unibroue, and very nice and spicy. Despite the high alcohol content, it is not overly boozy. A brilliant orange colour. HAMnJAM (6), Florida, USA does not count Jun 24, 2009 My favorite all time beer! I love Unibroue. About 10 years ago I was introduced to their beers and I fell in love. Not like a mother loves her child...it’s much more than this. jodah52 (47), Michigan, USA Jun 24, 2009 One of my favorites. A golden color with a robust head, a little hazy; has a powerful nose of sweet fruits and citrus; flavors of grain, orange, spices, and yeast. Finish is sweet and complex. Excellent. eManu (172), Brussels, Belgium Jun 24, 2009 Pours a hazy golden color with a nice white head. Aroma of fruity malts. Flavors of citrus malts and spices. A little sweet sour ending. A very good strong taste of a good triple. dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA Jun 23, 2009 Pours a pale gold with thick white head that dissipates quickly, but a lot of carbonation sticks around, minimal lacing though. Aroma of citrus, wheat, spices, and a lot of yeast. Flavor matches well, a solid belgian with a quite a bit of tartness, alcohol, and a lot of yeast. Not something I would pick up very often, but definitely drinkable. pete4999 (121), Buffalo, New York, USA Jun 22, 2009 Orange-yellow pour. Nice big head – cream white. Fruity, but with a perfect spice involved. Tastes like bread, citrus fruit + a good spice. Exactly the spice you look for with a tripel – not overpowering, but enough bite. Tons of yeast in the bottom of the bottle. One of my favorite beers…delicious.
