Avengedpoet (325), Mesa, Arizona, USA Apr 30, 2009 Pours a hazy/wheaty pils color with less head than is usually expected from Unibroue beers. Reminds me quite a bit of their Don de Deue, but less smooth. There is much more spice and less wheat present here. Some rose/bubblegum/clove/banana in the aroma. Taste is very dry and spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. kazooka (39), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Apr 28, 2009 12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip. Floral, citrus hops, bread yeast aroma. Gold color, very fizzy appearance. Thick white lingering head lasted the whole glass. Lightly sweet, med-light sour, light bitterness. Medium bodied, cream-like texture, fizzy carbonation, long sour finish. A great Belgian-style! LordCrabapple (83), Merseyside, England Apr 25, 2009 The first time I tried this beer, I thought it was a rather boring Belgian ’style’ blonde beer. This time though, I loved it. Full of flavour, rich and superbly made. Almost perfect. It shows the foolishness of those who review a beer the first time that they try it. Absurd! Madness! No true beer lover would ever do that. BeerBiker (1384), Odense, Denmark Apr 25, 2009 VINTAGE 5 years old. Bought in Dole, France. [Bottle @ Odense Tasting, 14th February 2009, remembered for Carsten BeerMouths fantastic 3 meals highend gastronomy.] Although it’s long time I’ve tasted these brewdrops I remember it as a fantastic olded one with oldfreshed fruits. One of my best triples ever! dimenhetfield (157), , Florida, USA Apr 24, 2009 Very nice color. Orange tint, a little cloudy with very little foam head to it. Definitly a little fruit in there, like apricots and a possibly a little orange. Hits your tounge with a full punch. So far a very relaxing and enjoyable beer. DigitalMan (113), Idaho, USA Apr 23, 2009 Gah. Drain pour. This is the second, and probably last, beer I’ll try from Unibroue. Rotten funky, fishy dishwatery gym sock beer. After drinking maybe half a bottle of the similarly nasty Pistoles, I didn’t even bother with a second swallow of this one. Yuck. Pinball (2692), Allerød, Denmark Apr 23, 2009 33cl bottle.
cloudy yellow, thick white head.
acid/sour/citrussy/floral aroma resembling a very good witbier. also a little spices. aroma is very enticing, very refreshing and makes you think that no matter what, a 9%er cannot live up to this kind of freshness..
but it can.
flavor is strong, citrussy, spicy, "belgian blonde" like, yellow fruits, faint banana, lemon, lime, a little bitterness. this style doesn’t get much better. 41cubs (131), , New Jersey, USA Apr 17, 2009 The best tripel that I’ve ever had. Bread and apricots on the nose. The perfect carbonation for the style lends greatly to the balance of the dryness and the soft supple body of the beer. The flavor is yeast, raw barley, and grassy exquisiteness. Thank You Unibroue. 2009 12 oz.
