scrizzz (1252), kirkland, Washington, USA Feb 15, 2009 hazy gold, strong active bright white head. notes of white fruit, though very faint. of course there’s soft and gentle belgian yeast but also fresh cut green pine as well. effervescent with notes of strawberry, hay, orange and honey. this beer has become a template for others to follow in my mind when comparing the style, though no one component of this particular beer stands out. the whole is bigger than the sum of the parts. RebeccaJenkins (3), Lakeland, Florida, USA does not count Feb 14, 2009 Slightly sweet; almost to the point of being obnoxiously so. Tastes like a loaf of bread smeared with a sort of peach or pear jam. Can definitely taste the alcohol. Very good beer; not great. Unibroue Trois Pistoles, however, is fantastic! sundevil27 (45), , New Jersey, USA Feb 13, 2009 750ml bottle - pours a light golden color with a small head. Fruit comes through nicely on the nose. A very smooth tasting, medium bodied beer. This is the first of the Unibroue brewery that I’ve had and I’m very impressed. Will definitely be purchasing more. nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Feb 10, 2009 Everybody likes this stuff, and for good reason. Sometimes the ignorant masses are right. I’d go to the end of the world, or as the French - I mean Freedom - say, to "la fin du monde," to get this stuff. A solid tripel, cloudy golden appearance with a lacy white head. Aroma of sweet malt, yeast, banana/clove, and other light fruits. Flavor is highly yeasty with light fruits and spices. Refreshing as hell. Smooth palate, carbonation pretty high. mroaes (3), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil does not count Feb 9, 2009 750ml bottle. Pours golden, lots of carbonation, small white head. Palate is astringent, almost acid. Flavor starts sweet, very yeasty. Nice vanilla aftertaste. Aroma is fruity, with tints of alcohol. ljstephenson (111), Lawton, Oklahoma, USA Feb 8, 2009 Orange color pours a nice white head, sweet fruity aroma, starts sweet, but finishes fruity with well-hidden alcohol, finish is perfectly dry. baobubba (446), Corvallis, Oregon, USA Feb 8, 2009 Dark golden with a uniform, thin white head. Quite carbonated. Fruity and somewhat spicy, malty aroma. Sweet but with a fairly light palate. 9% ABV packs quite a kick for such a light beer - kinda nice change, IMHO - the best part about this beer. This beer couldn’t stand up to the sharp cheddar I was munching on, but might do well against some of your less flavorful foods found in most pubs (eg. fries, fried cheeses, hummus/fruit plates, your mom). DWestrick (235), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 7, 2009 bottle. i just don’t like these beers - waaay too yeasty and tough to drink - i understand these to be popular beers but just doesnt do it for me
