Malty, slightly hoppy wiht a fruity character. The alcohol is well deisguised. kamish (92), Lake Stevens, Washington, USA Dec 29, 2008 even better than the other one i tried. jjuf1853 (467), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Dec 28, 2008 Updated: May 21, 2009Bottle pours a slighly cloudy golden color with a thin outer ring of head along the edge of the glass and a small island of head in the middle. The aroma is yeast, wheat, spices, and some fruit. Flavor is sweet and malty at first, followed by spices, a slight bitterness, and a dry aftertaste. Lively carbonation on the tongue. The 9% is well hidden. mspindler (301), Alta Loma, California, USA Dec 28, 2008 750 ml. bottle. Pours a deep cloudy yellow with a quickly dissipating white head. Very typical belgian aroma of yeast, some wheat, fruitiness and spices. Tastes very sweet. Apricot and pear, slight alcohol warmth, a good deal of bready malt and a hint of spices. Some hop bitterness is present. Flavor is better than the aroma suggests. Medium bodied with a frothy, carbonated mouthfeel. Lingering soapy belgian funkiness. Maverick34 (686), New York, USA Dec 28, 2008 Bottled. Poured yellow mild head and some lacing.
Unibroue s yeast fits better with La fin du monde than any other Unibroue s beer. A bit malty with a warming alcohol sensation. SkyCop32 (286), Morlautern, Germany Dec 21, 2008 Shared this with Oldrtybastrd. This poured yellow with a small white head and no lacing to speak of. There is a little spice aroma and the taste is also spice. The alcohol comes out in the end.
