Jan 7, 2009 Pours a pale straw yellow with a white finger and a half head.Poured into a tulip glass. Clove yeasty flavor much like a German or Bavarian hef but much cleaner. for an 9% alc brew this hides it very dangerously.This has the clean Canadian crispness with the Bavarian purity drinkability all wrapped in one beer!

Jan 7, 2009 96 is a very high score, despite many who hate this beer. I would have rated it a lot lower a few years ago. Because my tastes has changed. Also, because now I know it is MADE TO BE DRANK WARMER than usual beers. 8 or 10 degrees celcius, around 45 farenheit. Then you’ll discover the flavors that are smoothly fruity and both sugary, with not much bitterness. It is a great beer to me, and I am saving some for aging. They say 5 years potential in a Unibroue booklet I got in a special package.

Jan 4, 2009 Tulip from bottle. Pours a thick orange/tan. Boozy aroma of yeasts, some tropical fruits. Boozy flavor follows the aroma, with some clingy bourbon-esque aftertaste. Sticky.

Jan 3, 2009 Poured a hazy gold color with a fluffy white head. Spicy, citrusy aroma Spicy grapefriut flavor with maybe the barest hint of alcohol. Very easy drinking for an ale of 9%. Excellent

Jan 1, 2009 750 ml bottle that somehow was available for purchase in my uber religious hometown. Nice golden pour with a huge white head and a nice big amount of lacing left behind. Fruity smell with a big flavor of bubblegum and fruit with some wheat thrown in as well. Tasty little ale, would definitely drink again. This was the beer I chose to ring in the new year with, hope the name is no indicator of what will happen in 09!

Dec 29, 2008 12oz botthe: Appearance is hazy light brown with quick fading white head, aroma filled with spices and little bit of yeast, flavor pretty compex lots of spices again light bodied but full flavored. Doesnt taste ful belgian but i like it none the less.

Dec 29, 2008 bottle, Auchan Illkirch-Graffenstaden, 2007. Hazy golden yellow, large white head. Malty, slightly hoppy wiht a fruity character. The alcohol is well deisguised.
