Electric orange, maybe in color, with a thin white head, lots of fruit in the aroma and taste, well balanced malt sweetness, good banana and spice notes on the palate. A real pleasant surprise.

Wow. For someone who doesn’t normally appreciate this style I was very surprised by this. Lots of apricot, apple and other fresh fruits on the tongue. Very complex. The only thing that i could say badly about it was that it was a bit over carbonated and felt a bit ’spritzy’ in the mouth. Otherwise fantastic.

I find this beer too sharp on the alcohol and too short on the flavour. Nose is alcohol and malt. Taste is yeast, malt and alcohol. There is a fair bite to the alcohol and a lot of the fruitiness doesn’t come through as it should.

Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in an elongated tulip glass. The beer pours the expected straw-colored yellowish/light golden color with a substantial and long-lasting fluffy white head. The nose brings characters of tropical fruits and a touch of just-barely grainy pilsner malt. The palate is relatively light on the palate, belying the beer’s strength. I got strong notes of passion fruit/pearish esters, a nice level of malt complexity that alternated between pilsner grainyness and some deeper and more malty characters, and a high level of carbonation that helped to cleanse the palate. Overall, very well crafted, and just short of the greatest examples of the style.

One of my faves for alltime. The variance from batch to batch is a little unnerving. Caramel and fruit, clean finish for any abbey, very little alcohol seems present.

750ml bottle. Pours a orange/yellow golden clear colour. Incredibly easy to drink. This is 9%? Seriously? No hint of the alc.% at all. Very solid beer all around. Definately a fruity taste to the after taste. Very nice beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours yellow with slightly bright amber tint. White head that fades disappointing quickly. Funky Unibroue yeast and lots of Belgian sugar. Orange and orange peel, but less lemon/apple/pear complexity than I hoped for. Some banana and clove. Overall, though more sweet than tart or sour. Finishes semi dry, but tasty. Lovely soft palate. I typically don’t dig Unibroue yeast flavors too much, but this is one of the better ones.

Amber? Did I have a different beer than the last two raters? Mine was a fizzy straw yellow with a pillowy white head. Fruity (banana?), yeasty, and musty aroma with a flavor of golden raisins and some orange peel. Also a twist of typical belgian spices and a drying finish. Light, effervescent, and not too heavy on the alcohol notes despite the ABV. This is the first Unibroue beer I’ve had that I’ve actually liked! Nice work.
