Changed (161), Ithaca, New York, USA Jun 15, 2008 Updated: Sep 26, 200812 oz bottle. pours golden orange. nice head, high carbonation. fruity with citrus flavors. really didn’t like the metallic taste of this one. perhaps I got a bad bottle, but this beer was poor at best.
re-rate: 12 oz bottle. still pours golden orange. same carbonation and head. Lots of citrus/fruit flavors, quite yeasty. Again, not my favorite beer, but it left a better impression on me than before-- though only slightly. Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Jun 15, 2008 0.33 l bottle. Hazy golden color with thick creamy head, very fizzy. Tart, fruity, peppery and clovey aroma with notes of vanilla. Sweetish initially followed by tart and dry finish. Very tart, fruity and spicy flavor with orange, pineapple, clove, pepper and warming alcohol. Very high carbonation. The carbonation is too much for me but still this is an excellent tripel! Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jun 15, 2008 Bottle: This was the first Belgian Style Ale I had ever tried, and I remember it blew me away. I have since revisited this wonderful brew. It pours a hazy golden with a fruity aroma. The flavor is also fruity with some citrus. A complexity of flavors. It is heavily carbonated. ysusi (10), Mexico, Mexico Jun 14, 2008 Bottle into a pint glass. It pours a magnificent foamy head. Very nice aromas, very fruity, almost like a sweet white wine. Very pale, golden color. Some caramel, citrics and yeasty (no dark malts to cover it). Very nicely balanced. Good palate. Clean finish. Great! cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Jun 13, 2008 Bottle at home ... a gusher so very hazy orange ... a strong belgian hopped ale ... fruit estery again belgian hop ... little caramel litttle orange ... quite tasty rampmaster (314), Alden, New York, USA Jun 13, 2008 Presentation: It was poured from a 750ml bottle that is corked and caged into a chalice. It has a hazy body with a light golden amber color with a pale orange hue. The head is smooth, thick and creamy with good retention. It has a creamy off white color and it leaves behind soft lacing as it is slowly sipped down to the bottom of the glass. The aroma is full and fruity. There is sweet orange citrus and spicy character with a big hit of yeast and tropical fruits like pineapple. It has a sweet rich and fruity malt and yeast flavor up front. Tropical fruit like pineapple and guava are noted. Soft spices come out and the alcohol starts to warm things up. Hops add a light citrus and leafy flavor before the yeast comes back out and turns powdery and slightly dry in the slow lingering finish. The texture is smooth and creamy with perfect carbonation for the medium body. Outstanding and wonderfully complex with great drinkability.
doppelmeup (51), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jun 10, 2008 Great looking beer. It rivaled Duvel for foamy head, and had beautiful lacing. Head settles down to about a quarter inch that lasted throughout. Not quite as chunky as Duvel. Opaque, orangish yellow color.
Aroma was very Belgian. Yeasty, sugary, fruity.
Tasted much like liquid bubblegum, with some hints of orange and candy. Very well balanced.
Nice mouthfeel. Light carbonation. An excellent finish, leaving the mouth clean and wanting more.
This is an excellent beer. Well balanced, and each sip leaves you wanting more. A little strong to drink a lot of, but an excellent choice that I will buy again.
troopie (848), USA Jun 9, 2008 Bottle. Cool room temperature. Poured pale blonde with a thick white head. Full fruity and floral aroma. Wonderful full all over the tongue flavor. Lasting floral aroma. Lovely beer.
