12oz shared with Brie on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I can’t believe that I haven’t rated this classic yet. This is possibly the best triple to come out of North America and it is readily available here in the MA. The spicy yeast and banana flavors are great and the finish is a little tart and refreshing. I want a 6 pack of this and some 90 degree weather soon. Tripels and Saisons kick ass in the hot weather.

Medium white head. Hazy yellow body. Sharpish fruity spicy aroma with notes of pepper, grains of paradise, and soft metal. Sharpish fruity chalky taste with spicy notes and a touch of banana. Malty, candy notes. Nice, even if it’s a little sharp and dense. (0.341l bottle from some convenience store in Montreal.)

This is pretty good, but I was expecting a lot more from the makers of the wonderful Maudite. It is faintly hazy light gold with a big, dense, long-lasting off-white head that leaves only a weak hint of lace. The aroma is pears, a witbier-like grain and banana quality, a hitn of spie, and a meaty, winey alcohol quality. The taste is rather smooth, warming alcoholic sweetness with a light bitterness, mostly subtle pears, winey grape, light grain and a soft witbier-hefeweizen character. It is light, crisp while at the same time being vaguely warming, soft, and almost oily. But, the tastes are rather subdued and it really lacks the richness or the complexity and pungent quality of something like Westmale’s tripel. It’s not bad at all, but I think I’ll stick with something else.

Mer. This really wasn’t one of my favorite beers that I’ve had . .. ever. I did come from a new (to me) brewery I like the other two more than this beer. Drink the black horse over this one if you have a choice.

Pale golden with white head that disappears quickly. Nice rich wheaty, fruity (orange/lemon) aroma with hints of pepper and a strong yeast character. Very strong flavor! Doughy yeast, spices and apricot prevail in the flavor. The end is somewhat dry. Not bad!

355ml Bottle. Orange-beige appearance with tight soapy head. Lively carbonation. Powerful aromas of wheat, orange, lemon and pepper. Sweet malt taste with lots of yeast, some cardamom. Soft oily palate with an alcoholic finish. Abundantly characterful.

One of my favorite tripels. Pours an opaque golden color with a good head that persists. The complex flavor and subtle notes are really where this brew shines.

Pours an attractive orange/golden color with beautiful white head that stayed for a while. Aroma is of fruit and is sweet. The flavor is sweet and fruity up front that gives way to a peppery spiciness. Mouthfeel is good and the 9%alcohol is not evident until this beer is consumed. A really nice beer that is meant to be savored.
