Farfrompüken (3), San Diego, California, USA does not count Feb 21, 2008 appetizing golden strawlike body w/foamy white head. Citrus and candy in the nose, the taste is sweet and whiney, but an overwhelming iron/metal taste takes control of my tounge and wont let go. The finish warms the body and the alcohol taste is not very hidden. Overall, if you like the taste of metal, go for it... i for one do not mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Feb 20, 2008 Pours a yeasty, cloudy, straw gold, with a thick, foamy, pearly white head. Smells of sweet Belgian candy sugar, alot of orange citrus, with a mild spice character as well. Lovely aroma. The flavor is pretty heavy on the carbonation, with that easily identifiable Unibroue yeast flavor. The flavor wasnt as sweet as some of their offerings, more citrus with light candy sugar. Mild spiciness to it, some coriander I would say. Great drinking tripel, another rock solid offering from a pretty solid brewery. ontheroad (25), Buffalo, New York, USA Feb 20, 2008 Has a cloudy appearance, a very yeasty aroma, and a pleasant orange flavor. mractor (2), Los Angeles, California, USA does not count Feb 19, 2008 light golden haze, but didn’t pour the large white head that others have reported...I get cloves yeast and spices in the aroma, and there’s almost a powdery aroma as well? The flavor is bright, fruity and tart with just a hint of hoppy bitterness. Finishes tart and alcoholic, and continues to warm for a while. Overall, I was surprised by the bitterness that follows the fruit on the palate. Very enjoyable and drinkable...watch out!! Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA Feb 14, 2008 Bottle labeled,"best before 05-10-10", consumed 02/14/08. Cork popped with a great deal of energy, ricocheting around the room! Beer pours a golden yellow with a full, mernegue-like three finger head that slowly fades. Lots of carbonation. Aroma is somewhat off, with a nasty metallic tang being the dominant note. Some yeasty spice underneath. Metallic flavor carries over to beer. Dreadful! A little peppery spiciness and some lemongrass and sweetness lurked behind the relatively huge rusted metal flavor. Some parchign dryness on the tongue. Something must have gone wrong here, as I have had this before and it was a fine brew. This bottle, however, is a dumper. Until I have another to re-rate, this rating reflects this bottle. hillfiiiiire (283), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Feb 13, 2008 Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a huge white head. The aroma is full of cloves. The flavor is yeasty with citrus fruits. And the finish is nothing but dry. It has a very nice crisp feel to it, but I just can’t get myself to really dig this beer. crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany Feb 13, 2008 Pours a nice cloudy gold with a huge white head that just will not die. The aroma is mostly fruity, with banana being the most prominent. The flavor is more intense fruit, with a overriding sweet whiney bite that I did not really enjoy. Finish is very dry. Pretty good brew, but this must not be my style. gator2683 (133), Anchorage, Alaska, USA Feb 11, 2008 Cloudy and orange appearance, looks like blue moon. Large white head with a sweet fruity aroma. Taste is initially a sharp citruis, changing to mellow honey with a dry finish.
