Acarotibia (57), Santiago de Compostela, Spain Jan 24, 2008 Soft citric notes in the aroma.
Soft yellow colour (very similar to a white beer).
Soft sweet flavor with lemon notes in the palate.
It is very similar to a white beer in everything but the alcohol (no alcohol notes anywhere, surprising). stefanje (936), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Jan 21, 2008 Updated: Sep 13, 2008750 ml bottle fro Bevmo. Pours a slightly cloudy gold color with a small white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is strong and one sniff tells you immediately that this is a big Belgian style Tripel. Notable in the bouquet is coriander, cloves, banana and some funky yeast. The flavor is complex and rich with lightly spiced banana, biscuit, white pepper, and a grassy barnyard quality reminiscent of a saison. The mouthfeel is full, smooth and creamy. The finish is long with lingering spices and hay. Overall: One of my favorite triples to date. Recommended. NJJereme (261), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Jan 21, 2008 Pours a golden color with a light head. Sweet taste almost like anise. Not too bad. alexen84 (29), Australia Jan 20, 2008 Pours a very light golden/amber. Large head by fades quickly. Nice spicy pepper on the nose. Very well balanced flavour, a little fizzy in the mouth. goozen (1061), Leiden, Netherlands Jan 19, 2008 Bottle 0,33ltr at Kandinsky, Tilburg: Hazy orange tripel from the province of Quebec, Canada. Very sweet from the fruitu taste. jbean (110), Illinois, USA Jan 18, 2008 750mL bottle into tulip. Pours hazy golden with thick white head. Aroma is spicy, yeasty, slightly fruity. Flavor is spicy and complex, fruits, alcohol, yeast. It is fairly full bodied, but has a dry finish. A decent tripel. Ansset13 (127), Wilmington, North Carolina, USA Jan 17, 2008 The pour is a nice hazy straw with a lingering dense white head. The nose is dried fruits, caramel and hints of alcohol. The flavor is sweet, and complex as with any great Belgian style triple. beerking99 (199), USA Jan 17, 2008
pours very pale gold, with a haze, and a nice, dense white head that lingers to the end. Aroma is all fruit, with very faint hints of white pepper. Big time tutty-fruity bubble gum! Flavor is very sweet. Sweeter than the last time I had it. I find it is missing some of the dryness and white pepper notes I enjoy in this style, and think I used to enjoy in this brand. The finish is a little cloying, and the body is a little to full for a tripel. A Belgian brewer will say it is to filling, and I would agree. Not sure why the change, this has been a great beer, and it still is good, just not as good as before.
