750ml bottle poured a cloudy amber with a small, lasting white head. Aroma was fruity and sweet malt. Palate was light bodied. Flavor was vegtal and fruity with a hint of spice and a lingering sweet finish.

Rating 1800!! Bottle (750ml). I chose this Canadian classic for my 1800th rating because, well for one thing it’s a great beer, and also because I recently realized that I’d never rated it -- I was quite surprised as I’ve had it so many times that I just assumed I had rated it! Time to correct that with this milestone: Pours a lovely hazy yellow-gold with a large lasting foamy white head. Yeasty aroma with pepper and other spices along with some citrus and sweetness -- very nice. Sweet and spicy flavour of yeast, citrus, pepper, caramel malt, spices and much more -- complex and very flavourful. Some alcohol in the spicy, lightly bitter finish but for 9% it hides the alcohol very well. Medium to full bodied, nice carbonation. Even though I initially forgot to rate this beer, I never fully forget it, and when I see some in the dépanneur in Quebec I always buy some as I believe it’s one of the finest Tripels in the world -- a truly fantastic beer.

Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with a huge foamy thick white head and lined lacing. Sweet yeast (dough, barn) and light malt (hay, straw) aroma with sweet fruit and floral notes. Sweet yeast, dough and light malt flavor, mildly acidic with a fruity floral finish. Light bodied and fizzy, spicy palate, very lively carbonation.

Had as part of a flight at the Washington House Unibroue beer tasting. This was the first I had in the flight. Poured a cloudy golden in color with a sweet citrus aroma. Sweet tartness in the flavor. Nicely carbonated that left a tingle on the tongue. A very solid tripel. This one probably would blend a little better with age.

750 ml bottle. Clear yellowish gold with a lively, thick white head. Aroma is sweet citus, yeast and apricot. Taste is citrus and very spicy with some orange. High abv isnt masked that well. It’s gonna be tough to drink this whole bottle.

Bottle marked best before 05/19/08. Poured a large white fizzy head that was mostly lasting, carbonated, decent lacing, cloudy, and a straw yellow hue. Malty, sweet, banana, some clove notes, spicy, and a citrus nose. Flavor was sweet, citrus, banana, hint of clove, spices, and vinuous but not overly so. Smooth, thin mouthfeel. Light-medium body. Nicely done and worth a try IMMHO.

Great beer! Very carbonated almost to the point of being annoying. Cloudy blond reminescent of a hefe-weizen. Strong alcohol aroma and taste with a strong dose of spice. Almost like a mix of a wheat beer and a champagne. Great beer overall.
