This is a very drinkable belgian, but nothing about it seems to "shine" and stand out like in many other Unibroue beers. It seems pretty mediocre to me. Slight citrus and malt tastes and a dry finish. I probably won’t buy this again.

High in alcohol content, this tripel packs a strong punch; Rather complex, with an initial maltiness being quickly replaced by a spicy, coriander flavor and a fairly strong sweetness, and the coriander dominating the finish; Only a mild bitterness; Kind of an odd musty aroma at first, but a quick second sniff is spicy and sweet; Highly carbonated beer which foams up in the glass and in your mouth; Yellowish golden in color and quite cloudy; Fine sediment is suspended in the beer; Off-white head is huge with very large bubbles, and dies down to reasonable levels fairly quickly

A high quality beer. The aroma is malt, wine, and yeast with herbal hops. The appearance is nice with a hazy golden color and huge head. The flavor is also nice. It has a cheese taste along with some malt and its a little sour. Palate is just right. Unique malt and butter aftertaste.

Re-Rate 12/28/02: One sip of a Unibroue beer several years ago started a continuous love affair with this brewery, and the whole line of their beers, “La Fin Du Monde” was that first beer, what a stroke of luck that was for this “Grizzled Old Beer Swiller”.

As it pours from the bottle, a slightly hazy lemon yellow, the head creamy in texture, the size masterful, the color a brilliant white, as it evanesces it leaves a silky sheet of fine lace to cover the glass. The aroma of finely malted grains dominates the nose, citrus crisp, lightly sweet and a pleasure to the senses. Ambrosial start with lots of malt, the top middling in its feel with a spirited acidity, masterfully hopped, and a long drawn-out aftertaste that is dry. The 9% ABV, make this a real “Belly Warmer”, for these cold winter days and nights, a beer I love, and I always have a few bottles on hand as they age gracefully and I wish I could say the same for my own self. Ranks #282 on my current 1000 beer master list.

Tart, bitter, alcoholic. Way dry, like a bad champagne, and out of balance for beer. Didn’t enjoy nearly as much as Don de Dieu or Maudite.

What a delicious brew. Pours with a massive, snow white foamy head that sticks around for a good while. Aroma is an assertive fusion between typical tripel/wheat aromas, I feel, with lots of spicing, yeast, lemon. A sharp, fizzy attack on the tongue is host to many pleasing juices... lemon, fennel, pepper, yeast, a touch of white wine.

Pours unclear orange golden with a foamy white head. Penetrating yeast and citrus aroma with tones of sweet apple and light spices. Sharp flavor of yeast and citrus and a tone of alcohol. Banana and apple in there also and some hops towards the end. Quite dry and biding and not overly balanced.

Hazy orange color with a creamy white head. Aroma of sweet malt, some banana and spice. Flavor of sweet banana and lots of spice.
