Golden body with medium-strong carbonation and a large, rocky, excitable white head. Taste is sweet and malty, dries out significantly and finishes dry and yeasty, a touch of cobweb in there but otherwise riddled by fruitiness and pervasive white pepper. Nice floral hoppiness, really a part of the whole. Medium body but stylish and slashing, just crisp enough to be interesting, with lots and lots of bubbles. Well-hidden alcohol with just a subtle, slow-coming warmth. A classy classic! GonZoBeeR (2163), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

Really well balanced beer that gets high abv without being all that sweet. Someone once told me they were in some casino in Canada and this was all they served...I could totally live with that.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 24, 2005 Hazy orange body, medium persistent off-white head. Crackery aroma, spicy, with a touch of light fruit (white grape). Yeast-dominated flavor with breads, spice, and light fruit (again, white grape) finishing with a quick tart bite followed by the long yeast aftertaste. Pepper, cloves, and crackers are all here in classic Tripel fashion, but I like sweeter, fruitier examples. zach8270 (2129), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 21, 2009 (bottle - 12 oz) Cloudy golden color with an inch of white fizzy head. Flavor is very yeasty and spicy, exactly like a Belgian tripel, with lots of citrus, cloves, banana, and other spices. Flavor is incredibly spicy and sweet at the beginning with lots of yeast, banana, clove, and anise. The alcohol blends well and mixes with the yeast and lightly grainy middle and a spicy and sweet finish. Leaves a crisp aftertaste. One incredibly tripel.
