Flavor is very nice. Very spicy and yeasty, plenty of hints of banana and citrus. Nice texture, pleasingly full. Very yeasty, gives a nice sensation of chewing it as it goes down. Yum. Had a light aroma of whiskey and 7UP and a champagne-like aroma. Very well hidden alcohol. Overall a nice drink. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2005 Glowing yellow-gold in color and moderately hazy with a foamy, amoebic, 1/3" tall white head. Lemons abound in the nose - squeezed lemons, lemon buttercream and white birthday cake with lemon frosting. Other aroma accents attributed to cloves and pepper, forming a very bright and floral fragrance. Flavor leads in with sweet lemon meringue, shortbread, lemon grass and herbal buttered crescent rolls. Highly yeasty - first and foremost - with a cloves, pepper and chamomile spiciness to compliment a bitterness boding well with the taste buds. Nice candi sugar dimensions. Effervescence is well in tune with how I’d like my palate to react. Slightest kiss of herbal bitterness and musky malt profiling, finishing like a chomp of musky cologne and trace elements of pepper. An enjoyable and fine example of what a triple can be. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 18, 2005 Pours a cloudy golden body with an insane head. Aroma is fruity... smelling oranges, and definitely yeasty. Taste is spicy and yeasty. The finish is fairly dry with some alcoholic kick, but doesn’t feel like a 9er. However, when this warms, the alcohol is almost the only thing there... Nice complexity here, enjoyable brew. tronraner (1933), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2006 Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with retentive white head. The aroma is much like lemon cookies. The flavor is somewhat sweet bread with some lemon and noble hops. Just a hint of honey, as well. Some alcohol is evident in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is rather fizzy. Pours a cloudy straw hue with a decent two finger head. Smells spicy, peppery, yeasty. A tart, spicy citrusy taste is accompanied by a crisp, zesty carbonation. Finishes with a yeasty alcohol taste on the breath.
A most excellent brew. Sept 2004
