Aroma is very citrusy with notes of yeast. Flavor is very bready with lots of citrus and spice. Alcohol is hidden well. About as close to Duvel as a beer can get. Bottle conditioned in 750 ml container. Attractive golden-amber slightly hazy color with average, quickly diminishing head and fair lacing. Very complex aroma with wheat, honey, apple, flowers, lemon, coriander, clove and lots of yeast. Initial sweet and acidic malt and yeast flavors, nicely balanced with hops. Flavors became more complex as the ale warmed up bringing a bit more citrus to the ever-present yeast. Not outstanding, but definitely worth the special club price. I look forward to trying the other bottle in a few months to see how it ages. Dorwart (1828), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA

Aroma dominated by spices and yeast with a touch of lemon. Color is a medium gold with a slight cloudiness. Flavor is sweeter than I expected but still very good. More citrus flavor and not as much yeast. Alcohol presence though (NICE). Finish is smooth and tingly in the mouth with a nice alcohol warming. Another fine quality beer from Unibroue. oldrtybastrd (1823), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

Pours a hazy golden yellow color. Aromas of yeast, some fruit and spice. Taste is yeasty and medicinal, can really taste the alcohol in this one. rederic (1815), montréal, Quebec, Canada

But what clinches this as wonderful for me is that the piney spiciness I often get in triples in nearly absent...just a hint. For my 'slow' palate (it had to ride the 'short' bus to beer-drinking school), that gives the citrus, and sweeter fruit flavors, a chance to shop up, especially when warming. I love the malt/yeast in this one. thornecb (1805), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Fluffy white micro head with excellent retention does not recede. Sweet Unibroue yeast, malt, caramel, bread and hay aromas. Sour-sweet and slightly slick. With very quick, dry pepper finish.
