Peppery for sure and with other elusive (to me) spices. Very flavorful and complex. kwoeltje (1333), Manchester, Missouri, USA

Flavor is yeast, citrus, and mild spices. I’m not a huge fan of Belgian styles, but this was nice. scrizzz (1330), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 15, 2009 hazy gold, strong active bright white head. notes of white fruit, though very faint. of course there’s soft and gentle belgian yeast but also fresh cut green pine as well. effervescent with notes of strawberry, hay, orange and honey. this beer has become a template for others to follow in my mind when comparing the style, though no one component of this particular beer stands out. the whole is bigger than the sum of the parts. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2004 Musky, sharp, yeasty, bread like and citrus aroma. Lively looking ale with excellent carbonation, a pale hazy color and a firm white head. Supremely balanced flavor with a bit of tartness, some yeast, a touch of malt, and a little smooth sweetness. Finishes slightly dry. Very nice. I did get a bit of a metallic flavor though and the body could be punched up a liitle, if one wants to be critical. A previous rating compares it to a cross of Duvel and a Trippel, which I think is quite accurate. BelgianBeerGal (1318), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2003 A very dry Belgian Tripel, not as heavy or sweet as some of them are. The flavor is refreshing, citrusy, and the alcohol is masked well. Essence of apples. radagast83 (1315), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
