| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 7, 2002 This time I left the sediment behind in the bottle so it poured an very faintly hazy medium gold. Head is still small. Aroma was similar to the first rating but included a stronger vinous aroma. Palate was a bit smoother. Less spicey/yeasty and more sweet fruity is consistent with leaving the yeast in the bottle.
First rated 9/20/2002 3.5 Faint hazy yellow brown under a shortish lasting off-white crusty bubbled head. Fine specks of beige sediment. Faint soapy sappy hops aroma warming to a medium strong cirtus honey and caramel malty, spicey golden syrup, especially when glass is swirled. Medium body with medium strong wheat, lemon and honey flavours do a fair job of masking the high ABV. Spices (coriander and nutmeg?) linger in finish and aftertaste. An interesting and different brew but not smooth or well blended enough to challenge Terrible or even La Maudite. wunderbier (1267), Tampere, Finland
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 21, 2003 75 cL bottle, wine glass, 48 degrees. Short lived, fizzy, white head sits atop a hazy, medium-yellow body, which shows lively carbonation. Heavy dough and cobweb yeast; citric and flower hops; grain and light bread malt; hints of banana and apple; no indication of alcohol in the aroma. Moderately sweet throughout with a light bitterness to the finish. Pleasantly acidic throughout with only a tinge of alcohol at the end. Aroma is translated quite well to the flavor. Medium-light body has fizzy carbonation and is somewhat drying, but watery otherwise. The bottom line is: tasty, refreshing, well hidden alcohol...I dig it! MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 8, 2004 Updated: Jan 26, 200612oz - Sweet aroma that likes to linger in my nose makes the taste last longer. Bright hazy gold with medium head (wrong glass again I think). Lacing hangs around after each drink. Taste is sweet and fruity that masks the ABV exteremly well. Very smooth drinkable tripple. 12/08/04 3.4=5,3,7,4,15
re-rate 06/16/05:
Sweet aroma of candi sugar, yeast, vanilla, and coriander. A bueatiful pour produces a solid white head thay stays for a long time leaving tons of lacing on it’s departure. Cloudy yellow/orange color with champange like bubbles. The taste is also sweet with same flavors as aroma plus some citrus undertones. Very smooth with a tart aftertaste. Much better now that my palate is more mature. jrob21 (1265), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a thick white head. A little grainy at first, but opening up into some light pear, caramel, and hay notes. A faint light sourness at the start, more of a crisp acidity really. Honey, hay, and light fruit. Finishes dry and a bit sweet. The abv on here is hidden quite well. highlandlad (1258), Sydney, Australia
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 24, 2005 Updated: Oct 11, 2005If this is the end of the world as we know it, I feel fine. This is a spectacular Belgian tripel of depth and character. Pours a muddy gold with a towering head. Glorious aroma shows curacao, grape juice, toffee, ginger and all-spice. It’s one of those wonderfully complex aromas that rewards each sniff with something new. Full-bodied and beautifully rounded. On the tongue it shows orange peel, honey, cloves and zesty hops - spice is the dominant theme. The 9% alcohol comes through in the swallow but carries it off better than most beers of this abv. A dry musky finish. (341ml bottle)
