Poured hazy and bubbly yellow-orange with a large foamy-foaming white head. Aroma of lemon, lemon zest, yeast, off-dry white wine, varous spices and a nice earthiness to it all. Taste is very much an ashy-spicy-alcoholic belgian trippel (or strong blond) - the alcohol isn’t shy and the spice and herbal taste keep things interesting. Very lively mouthfeel. I guess it’s more sweet than bitter, but mostly it’s spicy. I’ve always liked this one, but find someone to share a bomber with you - it’s got a mule-kick on it! Slightly hazy yellowish look got some carbonation, white head. Strong drink but alcohol was blended in great way. Yeasty, acidic plus alcohol. Nice mix. Thanks Doug! jerc (3947), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Aroma is yeasty and alcoholic, light underlying notes of dry lemony citrus and muted wisps of peppery spice in both the flavour and the aroma. Alcohol is a touch prominent when you first start but mellows wonderfully as the glass goes on. Has the basic characteristics of a Belgian tripel - dry alcohol balanced by sweet pale malt with moderate hop bitterness and light spicy notes. Smooth medium palate is fairly effervescent, pleasantly so. Fairly drinkable, though the dry alcohol occasionally snaps you back to attention. 8/4/8/4/16
<P>July 2003. Bottle. Can kind of smell the alcohol in the aroma, and taste it a tiny bit at first. The alcohol sticks out more as it warms. Goes down easy enough for me to polish off a six pack in a night, and strong enough for me to regret that fact in the morning. just a hint of bitter, and some spices especially in the aftertaste.. 8/4/8/4/16 beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA

A medium bodied Belgian tripel. Fruity, bright, yeasty and spicy, all the things an Abbey Triple should be. Complex flavors are intermingling here. Apples, oranges and peaches mix with coriander, cloves and allspice (?) to make a very pleasant tasting beer. Add its extremely fine champagne like carbonation and this beer is a real winner. Very smooth. The 9% alcohol is hidden fairly well. It does peak out occasionally, as every once in a while there is a touch of alcohol bite and it is a real belly warmer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

This brew foamed up 1/4 brew, 3/4 foam as I poured it into my glass. Its head was a very white color. The bubbles in the head ranged from small to large. Again, this is another very carbonated brew. This brew also had a very mild aroma. It too was hard for me to distinguish from other smells. It has a very light orange color with yeast particles floating in it. Its flavor contains a variety of different tastes. The carbonation once again rolls off the tongue. It is adding to my buzz tonight. I liked the flavor and taste of the brew. It agrees with me very much. All in all an excellent brew! This brew is very potent and it added to my buzz for the evening. Hotstuff gave it a 4.55 rating and said she could drink it for the evening, but would be very drunk and that we would have a great time! Grovlam (3810), Copenhagen, Denmark

Amazing how well it hides the alcohol, this beer is just so smooth. The fermentation just poured out when I opened the bottle, similar to a champagne bottle. Hue was orange like and cloudiness was very hazy with particles being medium and density being average. Because of the triple fermentation, the head was huge and extremely frothy. Head longevity was mostly lasting with some excellent lacing. The sniff was quit impressive, maybe caused by the triple fermentation again. God blend of moderated hoppy and yeasty notes. Some of them being flowers, perfume, grass, lemon, orange, cheese and leather. Other notes were spicy, apple, coriander. Palate was slightly misleading, as it hides the alcohol so well. Tempted to say medium bodied but mend as a positive ting. Texture was silky smooth with a fizzy carbonation. Initial flavor was light sweet with some acidity and bitterness blending nicely in there. Finish is sweet and very refreshing with an average duration that left me with a feeling for more and more and more….Brilliant experience. Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA
