Bottle, served in Duvel glass at Fresh Starts, Flossmoor, IL. Cloudy yellow, with a fluffy white head. First smell impression is of a bit of orange juice, then diluted honey. Beyond the usual candi sugar taste is something complex and hard to distinguish; a horsey bit, perhaps, and staled hops. As I go further down, it gets pretty heady. Picks up a bit of a wit note, too, leading to a white wine finish. The bottle was dated "best by 11-17-07," so I’m guessing it’s pretty young, and may have been different just a few months later. Very expertly poured by the bartender to leave most of the yeast in the bottle. A most excellent and intriguing brew.

Oct 8, 2008 Orange beer with short lasting white head. Light, flowery and spicy aroma. Ginger snaps, brandy and spices lead to a somewhat metallic and orangey middle and pleasant malty end. Light and somewhat thin-bodied but delicious nonetheless.

If you hate the dryness of beers than this is the beer for you. This is like sweet candy and I’m not really feeling it. This is a dssert beer. WOW. However, this is clean and smooth and the water is pure. I’m kind middle of the road on this beer--its tooo sweet for me.
Not bad though.

Pours a murky, cloudy light gold in color. Two fingers of head forms on the pour. Smell is highly yeasty, with some spice and a decent amount of lemon. Taste has actually quite a bit of yeast to it. There is more of the fruity overtones, with more than just the lemon flavor showing up. Decent mouthfeel and highly carbonated. Decent, but it’s not "The Don".

Oct 5, 2008 Very fruity and sweet, nice yellow color.This is one sweet and fruity beer, its good, but not that good. To me it takes like champagne.

Oct 5, 2008 Another wonderous beer from Unibroue. This breweryt can’t seem to make a bad beer. Had in bottle. At 9 % this is a bit steep. Can smell the alcohol, and the taste is strong and harsh. Aroma of fermenting fruit and alcohol. Yeasty and maltyt flavour is mixed among the stong 9 % abv flavour. Mouthfeel is unusual and completely standard for a unibroue beer. Wonderful beer overall.
